Este agosto, Folklórico Itotiani y Folklórico Tierra del Sol te invitan a vivir un fin de semana lleno de tradición, técnica y cultura yucateca en Wenatchee, Washington.

Nos acompaña la Maestra Goretty Cob de Mérida, Yucatán, bailarina, docente y promotora cultural con amplia experiencia impartiendo repertorio yucateco a nivel nacional. Además de su trayectoria como intérprete y maestra, promueve el cuidado integral del bailarín y la importancia de la formación artística.

A huge THANK YOU to everyone who joined us for our Polkas Workshop this weekend! 💃✨

It may have been a small group, but this crew was definitely mighty. Polkas can be a little intimidating at first, but you all jumped in, trusted the process, and absolutely rose to the challenge. The energy, effort, and willingness to learn did not go unnoticed!

A special thank you to Maestro Miguel Angel Llanas for sharing your knowledge, expertise, and passion with our dancers. We are grateful for the opportunity to learn from you and add a few more polka steps (and maybe a few sore muscles 😅) to our repertoire.

And of course, thank you to cielodemexico for helping make workshops like this possible and for continuing to invest in the growth of our folklórico community.

We’re excited to welcome Miguel Ángel Llanas Viña to share his work with our community.

This summer workshop is presented by Folklorico Itotiani and B.F. Cielo de México, our second collaboration bringing dancers together for focused training and growth.

With nearly 13 years of experience in danza folklórica, Maestro Miguel Ángel brings a deep focus on estilo Tamaulipeco and huapango huasteco. His trayectoria includes 11 championship titles in polka competitions, with multiple recognitions as campeón de campeones, along with awards in huapango.

He has trained and performed with Ballet Folklórico Izcalli de Reynosa, one of the most recognized groups in the region, and currently dances with Ballet Folklórico del Río Grande in Edinburg, Texas. Alongside his performance career, he is completing his degree in Danza Regional Mexicana.

As an instructor, he has led workshops focused on dances from Tamaulipas, emphasizing technique, musicality, and style. This is a chance to learn directly from someone actively competing, performing, and studying the form at a high level.
