RDC 2026 SENIOR SPOTLIGHT! Nico Brannock is a graduating senior this year! 🥹 Nico has been part of the RDC family since 2017!!!! He’s made so many important contributions to our dance team and our community - RDC won’t be the same without him! Note from Nico - I will be attending Kalamazoo College in Michigan starting this fall and plan to double major in critical ethnic studies and biology with a concentration in environmental studies. I received a $50,000 annual merit-based scholarship from Kalamazoo, along with their $5,000 Fine Arts scholarship, so I will also be participating in their theater program in my time there. I’ve always cared a lot about the environment, and after I graduate, I plan on joining field research efforts to further our understanding of bear and salmon ecology and push for their protection and continuing conservation efforts. I hope to one day get my PHD in ecology and conservation. Dancing at RDC has shaped me and who I am in so many ways and has opened countless doors for me to continue becoming the person I want to be.

RDC 2026 SENIOR SPOTLIGHT!!! Angela Johnson is a graduating Senior this year! She’s been a big part of RDC for the last 3 years - both in classes and in her support of her sister and our dance team. We’re gonna miss you Angela, but can’t wait to see what you do next! Note from Angela: When I would visit my sister at RDC before I moved to Seattle, I would always come watch her class. Being able to watch her and the other dancers showed me that I had a love for dance. My grandma and I would watch dance shows together when I was little, and every time Tap would come on, I would be in awe and find it beautiful. When I moved to Seattle, I started taking Acro and Tap and became part of the RDC dance family. It was hard to come in as an older dancer but teachers like Cristen made the transition easy by being warm and welcoming and patient and believing in me. At my first recital two years ago, I wasn’t sure if I was going to be able to make it on stage because I was so nervous but everyone backstage was so supportive and told me I could do it and I did it! I’m still 100% nervous to get on stage but I know I can do it. This is an amazing community and I’m so glad I got to be a part of it. I’ve loved Acro and Tap classes and going with my sister to competitions - I’m like a dance team sister and feel like I’m part of the dance team family too!
