The Huskies welcome Brazilian native Luis Carvalho to Montlake for the 2026-27 season. Carvalho will join the Huskies after two seasons at Memphis, bringing valuable singles and doubles experience.

Former Husky standout Clement Chidekh is set to return to the sport’s biggest stage when he competes in the US Open qualifying tournament beginning Monday, Aug. 24, in New York. The 2022 All-American and first Husky to reach No. 1 in the national singles rankings will look to earn a spot in the US Open main draw.

The US Open qualifying tournament begins Monday, Aug. 24. The qualifying rounds run through Thursday, Aug. 27, with players battling for spots in the US Open main draw, which begins Sunday, Aug. 30. Fans and Husky alumni can follow Chidekh’s run throughout qualifying with every match and court available to stream live on ESPN+.

He’s on the verge of cracking the top-500 for the first time after a tournament title in Monastir, Tunisia, followed up by another finals appearance at the same spot three weeks later.

Clement Chidekh competed in his second-straight major qualifying draw, and his first at Wimbledon.

The former ITA No. 1 also reached the Nottingham Challenger singles final and currently ranks No. 208

Big Ten Distinguished Scholars: Nikola and Soham 👍🏅

They earned above a 3.70 GPA for the past academic year.

The Huskies earn 𝐀𝐥𝐥-𝐀𝐜𝐚𝐝𝐞𝐦𝐢𝐜 𝐓𝐞𝐚𝐦 honors and four Huskies are named Scholar Athletes for a 3.5 or better GPA in the ‘25-26 academic year.
