The close up of the single sword is my daily trainer for the past 25 years. The iron Edo period tsuba has an unusual brown patina and gold silver and copper inlay, in a half moon in clouds and ume (plum blossom) motif with matching fuchi/kashira. The tsuka has been rewrapped in Tsunami ito tsukamaki. The saya is an old hand brushed 'urushi' (black laquer) technique. The blade (29.25) is 'notare' (wave) temperline with 'tori zori' curvature throughout.
