Mathew Ngyuen and the West Seattle Jr. Football and Cheer.

"My name is Mathew Nguyen. I am a husband, a dad of 3 boys, a Navy veteran, and a UW alum.

I am just an everyday dad who stepped up to coach youth football because my son's team needed a coach. I think every kid can learn a lot of life lessons by playing both a team sport and an individual sport. I am a firm believer that talent is overrated, and skill separation comes from consistent practice and repetition.

I coached Little League Baseball for a few years before volunteering with the WS Wildcats 6 years ago."

Our players come from White Center, Delridge, Southpark, Highline, Burien, West Seattle and South King County!

💯 No experience is necessary to join the Jr. Wildcats - only a willingness to work hard and build a strong team. 👏

Coach Brooks is not only the Head of our 7th grade team, he is also a former college football player turned professional coach and educator.

Ya’ll sometimes a world class coach moves from Nebraska for a new coaching job at Seattle U followed by Kennedy HS, and you are lucky enough to see him in action with your own athlete on the field. The 7th grade team is under his leadership this year.

Coach Brooks is passionate about football, teamwork, ethics, and treats every athlete with respect. He guarantees playing time for all athletes - as all our teams do, and transforms every player who works with him into their best athletic self.
