🐾 A Special Tribute to Milo ❤️

Sweet Milo truly enjoyed his vacation with us! He became the first dog who didn’t want to leave when his family came to pick him up! 😂 He was basically smiling with happiness. We’re going to miss you, sweet boy! 🐶❤️

Milo is also a great reminder of something very important. Brachycephalic (flat-faced) breeds, such as French Bulldogs, Pugs, Boxers and Boston Terriers, require extra care—especially in hot weather. ☀️

Because of their short noses and airways, they have more difficulty cooling themselves through panting. This makes them more vulnerable to overheating and heatstroke, which can become life-threatening very quickly. In South Florida’s heat and humidity, outdoor time and exercise need to be carefully monitored.

Recently, I heard about the heartbreaking case of a dog in our area who passed away from heatstroke while under a sitter’s care. 💔 I don’t know the full circumstances, but situations like this are an important reminder that pet sitting should never be taken lightly.

Many people see pet sitting as an easy way to make extra income, but caring for someone’s dog requires much more than simply loving animals. Different breeds, ages and health conditions come with different needs and risks. A professional sitter should be prepared, educated and always continue learning.

When choosing someone to care for your dog, look for someone who understands that your pet’s safety comes first. 🐾❤️

First of all, I want to thank everyone who shared Conner’s story and helped spread the word about his adoption.

We were able to find a wonderful, loving family that seemed perfect for him. However, something unexpected happened. His owner shared some concerning information about Conner’s health with the family and warned them that adopting him might not be a good idea. Because of this, they initially decided not to move forward with the adoption, and his owner made the decision to have him put to sleep.

She picked Conner up from my house and took him to the vet. But then a miracle happened: the vet determined that Conner’s health was not as bad as previously thought, and they were going to start contacting rescue organizations to help him.

That’s when his owner contacted the family again. They immediately went to the vet to pick him up and take him to his new home. ❤️

Thank God everything worked out for Conner. He is safe, loved, and now has a new family. 🐾❤️🙏

We will truly miss your sweet personality, your tiny steps around the house, and all your funny little moments.

This is not goodbye… just a “see you later,” because they always come back home to us. 🏡🐶
