Dancing Through the Decades! was a smashing success. Thank you to each and every person that helped us bring the show to life, and a huge congratulations to our fabulous seniors!

We have two more weeks of classes, our final class is on Saturday, June 20th.Then.... Break time!! 🏖️

🤍 ANNIKA 🤍

"I have danced for 13.5 years at DWS, however it's felt like my whole life that I have been at Dance West Seattle. I have learned from many teachers and many disciplines, from tap to starting contemporary in March of last year.

My experience has taught me how to move my body, know how to take care of and express myself, and build a community with people who come before me. Dance has also shown me that just because I may not be the best at one thing doesn't mean I'm not good at the artform as a whole.

I can still remember a majority of the dances I have done in my later years at this studio but my favorite was doing the excerpt 'A Space in Between' last year because I got to explore more flowy and intense movements than I knew for ballet.

I am excited to attend college in the fall and I hope to continue in dance, maybe even trying my hand at choreography."

We are so proud of Annika and grateful for her timeless time with us at Dance! West Seattle. If you've known about our school in the last decade, you've known about Annika! A wonderful young woman with a great future ahead. ✨

"I have danced with DWS for 12 years. I've always felt a great sense of community here and it's given me a passion for dancing and hard work that I will carry with me into the future.

After graduating, I will go to college and see where the world takes me. I hope to always continue dancing and making art!"

We are so very proud of Rowan! What a gift to have over a decade in the same community, making art and making memories. Thank you for being a part of our DWS family! ✨

"I’ve danced at DWS for 4 years.

Since I’ve started dancing with Dance West Seattle, I have gained confidence in myself and my performing capabilities. I love the community and connecting with others through dance, and I’m honored to have been a part of such incredible people’s lives.

I’m excited for the next phase of my life to begin in college! I’m planning to do a Chemical Engineering major as well as a dance minor."
