We asked Natan about his experience with us, and hereās what he had to say:
Why do you love SSP?
SSP has helped me make fitness a consistent part of my life. The coaches and community are incredibly supportive, and itās a place I genuinely enjoy coming to.
What keeps you coming to SSP?
The accountability, the people, and the structured workouts. I can show up, put in the work, and know Iām getting a great workout every time.
Continuedā”ļø
What makes SSP different from other gyms?
The coaching and community. It feels much more personal than a typical gym, and everyone is invested in helping each other succeed.
Progress/results youāve seen since coming to SSP?
Iāve become stronger, more consistent with exercise, and Iāve noticed improvements in my overall fitness, energy levels, and daily routine.
How has SSP helped you mentally?
It has been a huge stress reliever. The workouts help clear my mind, improve my mood, and give me a positive outlet that carries over into the rest of my day. SSP has helped me stay consistent, get stronger, and make fitness a regular part of my life. The coaches and community make it easy to keep showing up!
We love hearing that what you do in the gym has an effect on the rest of your day āļø Thank you for being part of our community, Natan!

Hiking season is here in the PNW and at SSP we want to make sure youāre ready to tackle any adventure. ā°ļø
So here are three things we always build into programs for hikers and outdoor adventurers:
𦵠Single leg movements. Trails arenāt flat or symmetrical. Single leg strength builds the stability and control you need for uneven ground, scrambles, and steep descents. Lunges, step ups, single leg deadlifts are all great examples!
š Loaded carries. Getting comfy keeping that core braced under load is important for carrying those heavy packs! Training with weight in your hands or on your back builds the real-world strength to carry a pack for miles without your form falling apart.
š« Conditioning. Strength gets you up the mountain. Conditioning is what lets you actually enjoy the view when you get there and not feel like youāre dying along the way!
We had SO MUCH FUN this past weekend out at ! Itās so amazing to see our West Seattle community come together for such a fun event.
Huge shoutout to members Nicole and Linda for completing the race in the elite division, and to Coach Marci for getting those runners nice and warmed up before their heat!
Weāll DEFINITELY be back š«”

Thereās a few things we do differently at SSPš
But theyāre all for the same mission: to bring inclusive and safe strength training to as many people as possible!
Every one of these decisions was made with intention and to make sure that all feel welcome in our gyms!

MAY MEMBER APPRECIATION: Penny L
Penny lights up the gym every time she comes in ššš Her hard work and dedication in both semiprivate personal training and group strength classes have resulted in major progress in the gym and out!
We asked Penny about her experience at SSP so far and her answer warmed our hearts š„¹
āWalking into SSP āeveryone knows your nameā - a reference that dates me for sure! If you did not grow up watching Cheers in the 80ās I am sure you can find it streaming somewhere. Although walking into SSP is definitely not walking into the famous bar in Boston, it is similar in the sense of community. The coaches always greet you as if they were waiting for you and I love that!
I appreciate the value they see in each personās goals and their ability to meet each of us where we are on our fitness journey. I donāt believe many places are able to successfully embrace and support such a varied group both in age as well as ability levels. I leave every session feeling successful even though I didnāt lift the heaviest or complete the most reps. I always feel recognized for the progress I am making on a personal level.
Iām lucky that my husband found SSP and over many months encouraged me to give it a try. He kept telling me he really thought I would enjoy the people and do well in the program. And he is really happy that I freely admit he was right! We were on a hike recently and both recognized that I am more confident navigating uneven terrain. I have better balance and can more easily climb over rocks and logs without needing his support. My time at SSP has already resulted in an increased enjoyment in being more active in my everyday life and this fuels my determination to continue on this fitness journey.ā
š»Cheers to you, Penny! Weāre so grateful to have you as a part of our community!
P.S. Huge shoutout to Mike for introducing us to his lovely wife ā¤ļø
A few weeks ago our 2026 Deadlift Master Class team got together to put all their hard work to the test and we had a HECK OF A DAY!
A few major callouts:
āļø Jenny M participated in Pride Deadlift Party two years ago and maxed out at 265. After taking a little break from training her goal was just to put herself in a position to lift 300 # at the end of June, and hopefully match that 265 at the testing day. When 265 moved like air we went up and she hit a whopping 295!!!!
āļø Jillian, Natalie, and Omkar all hit ALL TIME PRās of 240, 285, and 275! This is Jillian and Omkarās second time through deadlift master class and they easily beat their bests from last year! Natalie has her eyes set on that 300 # deadlift now š
āļø Cameron and Anna are more experienced lifters and matched their personal bests of 420 and 215!
āļø Rickās initial goal was to deadlift his body weight (around 185) and Iām pretty sure he accomplished that in week 3š he finished with a whopping PR of 265!
This whole team had so much heart and dedication and Coaches Nat & Libby are SO proud of the work they put in to perfecting their form and finding out what they are capable of! Theyāre all so much stronger than they thinkā¤ļø
Next up: Bench Press Masterclass! š¤š»
