That purpose is what led me to start Warrior WR Academy, and that same passion for impact grew into the collaborative partnership that helped create Level Up Camp

Football has given me so much as a player, but I’ve always believed that what you receive means more when you find a way to pour it back into the next generation.

Every workout. Every camp. Every conversation. Every correction. Every piece of knowledge I can pass down is another opportunity to leave somebody better than I found them.

I’m thankful every time I’m given the opportunity to pour into these athletes because I know the impact goes far beyond the football field.

My legacy won’t be measured by what I collected—it’ll be measured by the lives I touched.

You can chase everything else.

DON’T FORSAKE SPEED FOR TECHNIQUE

During a Warrior Academy Skills Camp, I had to explain to my athlete the importance of understanding the movement before trying to speed everything up.

There’s a difference between moving fast and executing correctly. When you rush into a drill you’ve never done before, your technique starts to break down, your feet get sloppy, and you can create bad habits that eventually show up on game day.

I’d rather see you slow it down, do the movement right, and then gradually add speed.

Never forsake technique for speed.

Learn it. Feel it. Understand it. Then speed it up.

That’s how we build athletes who can execute with confidence when the game gets fast.

YOUR EYES CAN GET YOU BEAT BEFORE YOUR FEET EVER DO. 👀🏈

While coaching DBs at a camp in Texas, one of the details I emphasized was keeping your eyes disciplined when you’re in coverage.

Offensive players are taught to deceive you. Their eyes, shoulders, stems and body language can all be used to make you believe they’re doing one thing before they do another.

That’s why I’m teaching my defensive backs to understand how an offensive player is trying to manipulate them. The more you understand the deception, the easier it becomes to stay disciplined in your technique, trust your reads and put yourself in position to make a play.

Don’t let your eyes take you somewhere your keys didn’t tell you to go.

And we’re bringing MORE of this information back to Texas!
