Happy 4 Year Anniversary to Alec! 🎉

This year has been such a special year for Alec! Joining ownership of NWFP, becoming our Director of Product, getting engaged, buying a home, and stepping into a new teaching role at Seattle U, all while showing up for NWFP every single day.

Alec shows so much care for our gym and its members. We always value being great humans and great friends over great trainers, and Alec is the exceptional example of all three. Alec shows up as an uncle to those of us with children in the gym. Alec shows up as a friend, always a listening ear. Alec shows up as a mentor to our team members and those inquiring about the industry. All on top of being a fantastic coach.

“I feel incredibly lucky to train with Alec, who is not only a true expert in his field, but also incredibly skilled at making even the most sophisticated exercises feel approachable and completely un-intimidating. He somehow gets you working harder, lifting heavier, and feeling stronger than you ever thought possible, all while distracting you with great conversation and hilarious banter. An impressive feat!

Beyond being an amazing trainer, Alec is always willing to pitch in whatever is needed around the gym. You can tell how much he genuinely cares about NWFP and, even more importantly, about the people who make it what it is, members and staff alike. He’s a huge part of what makes NWFP feel so special.”

From coaching the floor to leading product as an owner, Alec has grown right alongside this place, and we’re better for it. Congratulations on the engagement to Katrina, the new house, and everything you’ve built here. Here’s to another year, Alec. We are lucky to have you!

TBT to the day we opened our doors in Morgan Junction. One month later, we’re still buzzing.

None of this happens without the people who showed up first. Our Founding Members trusted us before there was even a full schedule to trust. Our partners, Ascent Protein , Lei & Mar Co. | Jewelry that moves with you , LMNT , and LSKD USA , backed us before we’d trained a single class. Camaira Metz brought the music that turned a parking lot into a party. And our MVPs, the people who showed up early and stayed late to help us pull this whole thing off, you know who you are.

One month in, Morgan Junction has been showing up to train and we’ve got more coming this fall with more classes, more coaches, community events, and more ways to get stronger.

You’re in strong company.

Meet Philip Ouellette ! They joined us in June of 2025 with an initial goal of gaining strength and feeling stronger on the bike. After three months of working with Steven Pust , Phil pivoted the training focus to be geared towards a very specific race - the Tour Divide.

For the uninitiated, Tour Divide is a 2,700 mile bike race that spans the Continental Divide from Canada to the Mexican border. Training became very specific in the weight room and Phil worked diligently on his bike fitness behind the scenes.

Biggest Win: Completing 2,000/2,700 miles of the Tour before pulling out due to wildfires. The biggest accomplishment was feeling stronger throughout the entire effort! No back pain, the ability to climb or hike a bike every day over grueling mountains and terrain, are just a few of the highlights from an otherwise epic trip.

Trainer’s Take: Steven‘s take - “Phil is one of the hardest workers I’ve ever met. He is laser focused when he has a goal in mind and always pushes me to explain my reasoning. He takes full ownership of his training which allows him to progress consistently. I’m excited to see what goals he has next!”

Drop a 🔥 in the comments to show them some love!

Cardio strength is where it’s at.

Here’s how our Director of Community & Growth thinks about it: if you only have a limited window to train, cardio strength is the most efficient use of that time. Same kettlebell, same weight, a mix of double and single sided movements, five rounds, forty five minutes. Heart rate up, resistance still in the mix, sweat earned. The goal is different than strength and muscle. You’re not progressively building load, you’re building conditioning alongside it.

It’s also the class that fits the gaps in your week. Lifted heavy yesterday? Got a run, hike, or bike planned tomorrow? Cardio strength is the in between day. Still sore, still want to move, still want the room and the coaching, just not another heavy day.

And here’s the part nobody talks about enough. The complexes you learn in cardio strength literally travel with you. Same single kettlebell, five rounds, forty five minutes, done anywhere while a kiddo naps on vacation. Coming back from a trip or a break in your routine? This is the class to walk back into.

Cardio strength runs Tuesday and Sunday in Fremont. Thursdays in West Seattle. Come sweat with us.

See comments for the workout. Could sub in a dumbbell or a heavy backpack even.

You’re in strong company.

Part two of Spicy ISOS with Angel!!

What looks spicier the dead lift ISO or the Low ISO push-up?
Would you rather win the lottery or beat Steven Steven Pust in an anything you can do challenge ? 🤔

Back with another edition of Spicy ISOs.

If you’ve heard of Hot One Hot Ones, you know the format. We just swap the wings for isometrics.

Today’s guest is Angel, one of our signature trainers, sitting down with Jeremy, who’s coached them in the gym and for Spartan races, and Chris, their partner. We’re getting into Angel’s favorite lifts, favorite Spartan events, and a secret love of League of Legends.

Angel is racing in a Spartan race on September 19th. Learn what it’s like to train like Angel!

Your training might be missing something, and it’s not another heavy day.

Real strength isn’t just what you lift. It’s chasing your kids around the yard, keeping up on the ski hill, reacting fast enough to catch yourself on an uneven trail, playing the sport you love without your body holding you back. Power, speed, agility, the parts of strength that only show up when life actually asks something of you.

Performance & Conditioning is build to train exactly that. You can find us for this class Thursdays at 4:30, now back at 5:30! Come tap into the parts of strength that heavy lifting alone can’t reach.

Let’s change the standard recommendation.

Strength training while pregnant is safe.
(Insert hopefully obvious medical disclaimer here regarding special cases and always discuss your training with your doctor.) thank you ParentData for paving the way for so much more myth busting around what is and is not safe in general for pregnant people.

We’re here to be a part of your team supporting you feeling the most capable you possibly can as you are also growing another human being.

Don’t listen to the noise. Talk to a human coach.

Congrats to Nilofar Ganjaie on baby Reza- we can’t wait to see you back!
