Laura is a sweet client with a special needs daughter, whose needs can be very physically demanding on mom and dad. Carrying any child regularly who is not a toddler anymore will take strength if it is not going to wear down your body. Laura came to us determined to care for her daughter well, and knew she needed to get stronger to keep up with that need. We are so proud of her progress, and even more proud of how she cares for her daughter with intention. Way to go, Laura!

This is the type of client that we love. Gaining strength to serve the Lord and her family as best as she can! This is why the gym is not just for athletes or gym bros. It is for normal people, doing normal life, that desire to get everything that they can out of life, with nothing left on the table. They will have stewarded the gift of their body and their time well as far as it depends on them. Love to see it.

HAVE A PLAN WHEN YOU WALK IN THE GYM. PERIOD.

Progress the plan until you run out of runway. Add weight, add reps until you can't. Consistency with a bad plan will get you much farther than you probably think.

One of the main things that will make you successful on your health and fitness journey is DELAYED GRATIFICATION.

Can you put in the work today with the promise of a future that you want down the road?

Can you turn down the sugary snack?
Can you get to the gym when you don't feel like it?
Can you choose long-term health over short term satisfaction?

Can you keep choosing these over and over again until you reach your goals?

You don't have to be perfect, but you have to get good at saying "no" to the temporary pleasures of today and "yes" to the you that you want to be 6 months down the road.

Are you ready? We'd love to talk more. DM us or schedule a consult with us a highcallingfitness.com. It would make our day to chat with you about making some changes. πŸ‘Š

Lift the Rocks, Win the Day πŸ‘Š

What would it feel like to walk around knowing that your body was capable of pretty much anything you needed from it?

Have you ever had that as an adult?

This is what we want for more and more people: HIGH QUALITY OF LIFE FOR AS LONG AS POSSIBLE, TO THE GLORY OF GOD!

There can be a fine line between stewarding your health well and looking for the villians in your kitchen cupboards and shampoo aisle. Just remember that the ultimate bas guy is sin, and everyone is born on our way to a physical death.

This topic is really important when we are communicating with people about their goals. Typically, everyone wants to "lose fat, gain muscle" and maybe there is another side goal in there. That progress can definitely happen at first, especially for the newbie or untrained individual. BUT as you get farther and farther into training, the more important it is to set very specific goals and check them off one at a time.
This is important for 2 reasons.

For one, it sets realistic expectations for yourself. You cannot kill it at everything all the time. Focusing on one task is going to be more attainable than 3, especially because most of our clients are average joe's. They're moms and dads and pastors and firemen and financial planners and linemen and mechanics and homeschool moms. They don't think about food and fitness 24/7. They can't and don't want to. They need achievable goals.

Secondly, after a bit of training, your body can also only handle one or maybe two major goals at once. There are certain systems in the body that just won't allow you to put on 10 lbs of muscle while losing 50lbs of fat. At first ya, but not forever. Eventually those safety checks set in and chasing one goal at a time is more sustainable for your health and well-being, and even sensitizes you properly for the next goal that you want to move on to later.

Postpartum is a delicate time for a woman's health. We have helped multiple women through this season and look forward to helping many more.

It's about a lot more than "bouncing back". It's about getting your hormones back on track, making sure your nutrition is in check to repair and recovery, making sure you're hydrated enough to support breastfeeding, and facilitating workouts that are manageable for a sleep-drived mom who still needs enough energy to run a busy household once she is up on her feet.

With Postpartum, the time to hire a coach is always NOW. Why wait?
