Ocean Pines Swim Team Hammerheads

OCEAN PINES SWIM TEAM is a non-profit entity organized for the purpose of providing competitive swimming opportunities for youth between the ages of 4 and 18.

OCEAN PINES SWIM TEAM (OPST) is a competitive swim program in Ocean Pines, MD, proudly celebrating 50 years of developing athletes ages 5–18 with an emphasis on character, teamwork, and growth in and out of the pool. OPST has been a complementary aspect of the Ocean Pines Community since it began in 1975. We are constantly growing, training young people to be strong swimmers and maintaining a well-rounded competitive swim team.

It's a beautiful morning for the opening season meet for most of our swimmers! We have two swimmers brand new to the team as well as a large handful of swimmers competing in their first ever USA swim meet! This is a meet to go out there and discover your starting point for the season and experience the fun and thrill of the water. Go Hammerheads!

A big thank you to Coach Nate Parsley from Salisbury University and Salisbury University Men’s & Women’s Swimming for spending time with our Hammerheads and families to share insight into the college swimming and recruiting process.

It was a great opportunity for our older OPST swimmers to learn more about what the next level can look like. Thank you Coach Nate!!

Finally getting to announcing all of the record breakers from the summer DSA Championship meet.🏆 Thirty-one records broken in all!! Congratulations again Hammerheads on a terrific season! Time to dream big, plan well, work hard and keep moving forward.

🏆 At our End-of-Season Pool Party, we took a moment to recognize more than just fast swims and time drops. While championship cuts and PBs matter, so do hard work, dedication, team spirit, and the heart that makes OPST so special. 💚

🐟 Rookie of the Season Female: Camryn Ward
Both of these young people showed amazing growth, coachability, and determination!

💫 Ginny Reister Award - named after OPTS’s founder (Volunteer of the Year) – Mary Sperry has been helping behind-the-scenes through 15 consecutive years and 4 children!! Taking on many different volunteer positions including 10 years helming the annual team breakfast. We’ve been so lucky to have her as part of our team and are so grateful for everything she has given!

We’re proud of every swimmer, coach, volunteer, and supporter who helped to make this an amazing season! Way to go, Hammerheads! 💥
