When I was little, I used to pray that God would make my brother Josh like everyone else.

Josh was born blind and severely mentally disabled.

As a little girl, I felt so sad for him. His life seemed like such a waste. To me, he looked trapped in a cage.

I carried so much guilt too.

Why was he born this way and not me?

It could have been me.

Maybe it should have been.

I felt embarrassed and ashamed. When people stared at us in public, I felt like we were the freak show family.

So I prayed over and over again:

“Please God... make Josh normal.”

Nothing changed.

Eventually, I stopped praying.

I remember saying to God,

“Either You’re not real... or You’re real, but You’re mean. Either way, I’m not talking to You anymore.”

Years later, after spending countless hours in hitbodedut, something slowly began to change.

Not Josh.

Me.

Today, my prayer for Josh would sound very different.

“God...Help me see him through Your eyes.

Help me understand why You gave me this brother.

Teach me what he came here to teach me.”

I realized that all those years, I thought Josh was the one who couldn’t see.

But I was the blind one.

My resistance never changed Josh- It only kept me from truly seeing him.

Somewhere along the way, I stopped waiting for Josh to become the brother I imagined and started learning how to be his sister—to meet him where he was instead of wishing he were somewhere else.

Today, Josh is one of my greatest teachers.

He has taught me about unconditional love, acceptance, presence, and faith.

Every now and then, when I’m struggling against reality, I think about Josh.

And I remember that some prayers aren’t answered by changing our circumstances.

Sometimes they’re answered by changing our perspective.

They could bend my arm… until I changed one thing.

At first, I relied on muscle—and they could bend it.

Then I stopped using physical strength and shifted my focus instead. Suddenly, they couldn’t move it.

Sometimes we’re trying to force our way through life with more effort, more resistance, and more struggle… when what we really need is a different mindset.

When we connect our minds to our souls—and our souls to God—we access a strength that doesn’t come from our muscles. It comes from within.

Life doesn’t always require more force. Sometimes it simply requires a deeper connection.

The greatest strength isn’t always physical. 💙

Father’s Day feels different when your father is no longer here, but today I want to honor mine.

My dad gave unconditional love, an unwavering belief in me, the gift of his presence, and an example worth following.

He wasn’t someone who preached or gave long speeches. His actions spoke louder than words. He led by example—with humility, generosity, faith, and a genuine trust in God.

One of the greatest gifts he gave me was confidence. He believed in me from the time I was little, and somehow that belief became part of me.

He also gave me the gift of presence. Even when he was busy, he knew how to be fully there. He would get down on the floor and play, laugh, and enter my world. He made my interests feel important simply because they mattered to me.

When he became sick, I realized that I wanted to be more like him. I wanted his faith. His ability to stay present. His generosity. His joy.

So much of who I am today was shaped by his example, and I see his influence in my life more and more as the years go by.

After he passed away, I developed a much deeper relationship with God. Looking back, I realized that having a father like him made it easier for me to trust in a Heavenly Father.

Each year, I see more of his light. I understand a little more of what he gave me, and a little more of the impact a father can have.

To all the father’s reading this: never underestimate the impact you have. The way you love, listen, show up, and live becomes part of your children long after the moments themselves have passed.

Happy Father’s Day to all the fathers who are with us – and to those whose love continues to live on through the lives they touched.

My dad may no longer be here, but the gifts he gave me are. For that II will always be grateful. Happy Father’s Day, Dad. I love you.

For years, I ran a martial arts school. 🥋

I helped students go from white belt to black belt. I taught them how to become strong, confident, disciplined, and resilient. I taught them how to defend themselves—not only physically, but against fear, self-doubt, and the negative voices that tell us we’re not enough.

I loved that work.

But somewhere along the way, God had other plans for me.

I got very sick. I had to close my studio. I moved across the country. At the time, I didn’t understand why everything was “falling apart”.

Looking back, I can see that God was redirecting me.

What began as a journey of teaching physical strength became a calling to help women develop spiritual strength.

For the past several years, I’ve had the privilege of guiding women through the Spiritual Growth Bootcamp, and watching the transformation has been incredible. I’ve seen women deepen their relationship with God, strengthen their faith, find greater peace, and healing, and discover a connection they didn’t even know was possible.

That’s why I’m so excited to be opening a new Level 1: Divine Dialogues this July.

Whether you’re feeling deeply connected right now or completely disconnected…

Whether prayer feels natural or feels difficult…

Whether you’re just beginning your journey or have been working on your relationship with God for years…

This program meets you exactly where you are. 🤍

Over six weeks, you’ll learn how to build a genuine daily relationship with Hashem which will lead you to deeper happiness, calm, clarity, and faith….and once this in place, you’ll feel things manifest more easily, and you’ll feel more ease and peace in your life.

Level 1: Divine Dialogues begins July 9.

I’d love to have you join us. ❤️

Message me if you’d like more information.

The harder we push against our problems, the more exhausted we become.

A smart martial artist knows that resistance isn’t always the answer. Instead of pushing against force, they pull it in, redirect it, and use it to their advantage.

What if the challenges in your life aren’t meant to be fought, but embraced?

Sometimes the very thing we’re trying to push away is carrying the lesson, growth, or transformation we need most.

When we stop resisting what is and start working with it—even finding gratitude for it—we create the possibility for something new to emerge.

This is one of the many principles we work on inside Spiritual Growth Boot Camp, and it has led to some truly incredible shifts for the women in the program.

I’m opening a new Level 1 Boot Camp in July, and new Level 2 and Level 4 groups will be starting soon. If you’d like more information, feel free to send me a message.

My student drools during class.

We’re working on the fundamentals of wax on, wax off. Her focus is weak, her discipline is inconsistent, and she usually tries to eat the equipment.

But her cuteness is unquestionably black belt level. 🥋👶💕
