250 years ago a group of people made a decision that had never been made quite like this before.
Not just to fight for independence.
To declare — in writing, to the world — that certain truths are self evident.
That all people are created equal.
That life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness are not privileges to be earned.
They are rights.
It was a radical idea then.
It is still a radical idea now.
The 250 years between that moment and this one were not easy.
There was a civil war that nearly tore the whole thing apart.
There were movements and marches and people who stood in the face of everything and said — you said all. You meant all.
There were generations who worked in silence and in struggle so the generations after them could stand a little taller.
There were immigrants who crossed oceans and deserts and every kind of hardship imaginable because somewhere along the way they heard about this place and believed — genuinely, with everything they had — that it was worth the journey.
And here we are.
250 years later.
Still becoming.
Still arguing about what those words really mean.
Still — and this is the extraordinary part — still trying.
That is what makes this country remarkable.
Not that it got everything right.
But that it kept going when it got things wrong.
That the promise written 250 years ago is still large enough — still ambitious enough — to challenge every generation that inherits it.
Happy 250th Birthday America. 🇺🇸
May we always be worthy of the promise.

🌿 Happy International Yoga Day.
Today, millions of people around the world will step onto a mat. Some for the ten-thousandth time. Some for the very first.
And no matter where you are in that journey — I want you to know something.
Yoga was never about touching your toes.
It was never about the perfect pose, the deepest backbend, or how flexible you look in a photo.
It is about coming home. To your breath. To your body. To the quiet place inside you that exists underneath all the noise of your life — the deadlines, the worry, the world asking you to be everything to everyone, all the time.
For nearly thirty years, I have watched this practice change people. Not just their bodies — their entire relationship with themselves. I have watched fear soften into courage. I have watched grief find a place to land. I have watched people walk in carrying everything, and slowly, over time, learn how to put some of it down.
That is the real practice. The poses are just the doorway in.
So today — however you celebrate, however you practice, wherever in the world you are — take a breath. A real one. Let your shoulders drop. Let your jaw unclench.
You don’t have to do anything to be worthy of that breath. You already are.
Happy International Yoga Day. 🙏

As yogis, we know that growth doesn’t happen overnight. It comes from consistently showing up, trusting the process, and staying focused on the goal.
Here’s to Team USA continuing their amazing run and inspiring all of us to keep pushing forward, no matter what challenge is in front of us.

Stop shrinking yourself to fit into spaces never built for you.
Maybe it’s a job that asks you to be smaller than you are.
A relationship where your full self feels like “too much.”
A room where you’ve learned to soften your voice before you even speak.
Here’s what thirty years on the mat has taught me:
The right room does not ask you to shrink.
It makes space for exactly who you are — the parts that are loud, the parts that are still healing, the parts you’ve been told to tone down.
You don’t need to become smaller to belong.
You need to find — or build — the room that was always meant to hold all of you. ✨
Where have you been shrinking yourself? Sometimes naming it is the first step toward stopping. 👇
