Hard times don’t break what God is building — they’re part of the blueprint.

Progress isn’t loud. It’s in the thousand small moments no one sees.

This is how we work on the rundown, Today’s video picks up right where yesterday left off.
A rundown is a reining maneuver — running straight down the pen and then slowing down abruptly into a stop. Today, cutting horse trainer Josh is putting his cutting horse to the test, trying his hand at this reining move even though it’s not what the horse was bred to do.

Everyone thinks a rundown = riding fast. It’s actually the opposite. Running down is slowing DOWN abruptly. Jim’s teaching a cutter with zero reining experience how to get this right — full video drops tomorrow

Exhausted from the arena, not from wishing I was somewhere else. This is the tired I chose — dust, sweat, and a horse who trusts me a little more each day.

Part 2 — picking up right where we left off.
If you missed Part 1, go watch it first (linked below/check my recent posts) — this one won’t make sense without it.
Now let’s finish the drill and lock in that football-shaped circle for good. 👇

18k of you watched the teaser - time for the real lesson. A few days ago at the Run for a Million, commentators kept coming back to the same thing: the best circles weren’t round, they were football-shaped.
It clicked watching it — reining is a steering competition first. Your circle shape is just proof of how well you’re steering.

In this video:
✔ Why football > round
✔ Where to apply pressure through the shape
✔ The #1 mistake I see riders make on circles

Save this before your next ride.
Comment “STEERING” and I’ll send you the drill.

Part 2 drops tomorrow — the in-saddle breakdown of how to actually fix it. Follow so you don’t miss it.

Most riders think a circle is just a circle. But every drift, every hesitation, every moment your horse leans instead of moves with you — it’s all information. The horses that go on to be great weren’t ridden better by accident. They were ridden by someone who knew what they were looking at.

That’s the whole point of the Reining Masterclass. 25 years in the arena, distilled into a program that’s helped hundreds of riders in 40+ countries stop guessing and start seeing what their horse is actually telling them.

If you’re ready to stop riding blind and start riding with a plan — this is where it starts.
