5 years ago on September 11,2021 Family Martial Arts Center of SPF set down our roots and moved into our current location at 2014. Route 22 East Scotch Plains , NJ
It’s been one heck of a journey since !!! Experiencing tremendous growth in students . Longevity and growth with students pushing year aftee year in putting their faith in their Sensei and their training.Outstanding support from family and friends of our students . Demonstrations, karate camps , Shiais , movie nights , birthday parties , street fairs , community events !
Working with the special needs community both inside and outside the Dojo as well as schools and pre schools on classes on-site . We had our first home grown black belt awarded in December 2025 and have some others starting to knocking on that achievement door . I am so proud of what we’ve built and will continue to build in the years to come

A couple of Dojo birthdays this week for 2 long time dedicated students

Happy happy 14th birthday on September 10 to Ni Kyu Allison Stoichkov. “ Allie “ has grown up in the Doio , starting back in the summer of 2020 when classes started through Fanwood Rec at Forest Road park . As one of our originals, Allie is a very sharp student. She is “ fierce” in kumite using her length to throw many excellent kicks . Her effort in class 2 times a week is admirable .

Happy happy 12th birthday on September 11 to Purple Belt 2 Kaylee McConville . KAylee is a kind respectful student who works well with partners and gives her all in every class. She’s a great kid , always with a smile , and it’s a pleasure to be her Sensei
