Century Farm Equestrian Center was established back in 1870 when James and Charlotte Peery purchased 80 acres along Crabtree Creek and created our old homestead. Western Pleasure Riding Lessons *

Our center is set on 80 acres of beautiful scenery and wildlife. From woodlands to streams to meadows, you'll receive a true taste of Oregon right from the saddle. With such a lovely atmosphere it is the perfect place to host birthday parties, and so much more. Lessons take place in our covered arena and, during the summer, our riding trails. Monthly lessons (set of 4): $180.00
At each of our lessons, you can expect a 2 hour segment of horseback riding and educational equine facts. Learn how to communicate with the horse you ride for the optimal safe and enjoyable experience. Lessons include a half hour educational break where light refreshments are provided. Century farm is looking for a couple gentle well mannered lesson horses. Something you would trust with your grandkid. Must be able to walk, trot, and canter. Over the age of 15. Not looking to spend a fortune but know they will have a great home on 80 acres with a herd. Grained and hayed all week long. Turned out every night. Only worked 4 days. Reviewers praise the hands-on, gentle, and educational approach at Century Farm Equestrian Center.

Students aren't simply riding a horse. They're also learning how to groom, tack, walk, and trot a horse—basic horsemanship. And that's just the basics!

Our individualized lessons are designed for various ages and skill levels. Small class sizes of 8-10 students.

Thursday homeschool horsemanship lessons start September 3rd, 2026 and go from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM. This class size is limited to just 10 students. It's filling up fast!

Here's some of what you need to know:

◾You don't need your own horse! We provide the use of our horses.

◾You don't need to start out with your own helmet! You're welcome to borrow a helmet from us during lessons until you can purchase your own.

◾You'll want to wear long pants to protect your skin.
👉Tip: Goodwill and St. Vincent DePaul are great places to find jeans to wear just for horse riding lessons.

◾Proper fitting closed toe sneakers with a heal are essential. No Crocs (they don't fit in the stirrups). No sandals! You'll want to protect your feet.
