30 Years Ago — A Travers to Remember 🏆

As we celebrate Travers Day at Saratoga, we’re looking back on a moment that will forever be a part of Bond Racing history.

Thirty years ago, in 1996, Will’s Way gave Jim Bond his Travers victory, battling down the Saratoga stretch to defeat Louis Quatorze and Skip Away and capture the Grade 1 Travers Stakes with Jorge Chavez aboard.

Will’s Way was a special horse from the very beginning, and his Travers victory remains one of the proudest moments in our stable’s history.

Three decades later, there’s still nothing quite like Travers Day in Saratoga — and we’re grateful to have our own place in the history of the Midsummer Derby. 🎪

Here’s to 30 years of memories, and to making many more. 💙

Step behind the scenes at Song Hill Thoroughbreds for a guided walking tour of our Thoroughbred farm. Guests will learn what it takes to develop a racehorse from start to finish — from mating and foaling, to raising young horses, training, and ultimately making it to the racetrack.

During the tour, you’ll walk the farm grounds, visit the barns, and meet our broodmares and foals while learning about daily life on a working Thoroughbred operation. Whether you’re a longtime racing fan or simply curious about the sport, this is a unique opportunityto experience the heart of horse racing up close.

Please note: this is a walking tour and will take place outdoors on the farm grounds. Comfortable footwear is recommended.
