My good friend Dawn is in the photo.
We're excited to announce that Caffe Lena has been awarded a $40,000 Music in Action Grant from Live Music Society to pilot a new initiative, "Music Is Medicine: Prescription Tickets." Over the coming year, we'll be working with healthcare professionals and community partners to explore an intriguing question: What if someone who is grieving, facing a difficult diagnosis, or moving through a major life change could find a path back to wellbeing through live music?
The grant gives us time to build the program thoughtfully, document what we learn, and share the results. We're deeply grateful to Live Music Society for believing in this idea--and the equally exciting projects of 28 other grant recipients across the country--and giving us the opportunity to see where it leads. We'll have much more to share as the project takes shape!
