As the racing world says goodbye to Aqueduct, we are taken back to April 12, 2003.

Our dream of a Kentucky Derby was already alive, but the Wood Memorial at Aqueduct gave us every reason to believe.

Funny Cide came into the race with something to prove. After getting bumped at the break, he dug in, battled all the way to the wire, and finished a gutsy second to Empire Maker.

He may not have won the Wood, but he left Aqueduct a legitimate Derby contender. Three weeks later, he made history as the only New York-bred ever to win the Kentucky Derby.

Thank you, Aqueduct, for being part of one of the greatest rides of our lives. We'll never forget you.

Liam's Legacy made his racing debut on Sunday at Belmont at The Big A. When asked if he did a good job, the answer was emphatic. (We agree.)

Today was the dedication of the bronze Funny Cide statue at Kentucky Horse Park in Lexington. It is an incredible honor and a testament to how much our Gutsy Gelding meant to horse racing and, most importantly, its fans. We miss him every day, but are thrilled and touched to see his legacy live on. Thank you to all who took part in making this happen with a special shout out to the incredibly talented artist Shelly Hunter. Funny Cide - forever in our hearts!
