Looking for the perfect spot to enjoy the day with your furry friend? The City of Sarasota has many beautiful parks to stroll with your dog, including peaceful waterfront walks at Bayfront Park, Ken Thompson Park or Sapphire Shores Park.
And for pups who love to socialize and play, we offer two fantastic dog parks:
• Gillespie Park, Canine Club
• Arlington Park, Paw Park
Dogs play many roles… and today, we celebrate them all.
Take a stroll, enjoy the sunshine, and give your dog some extra love today. 🐾💙

Smash & Splash was so much fun. We combined learning tennis essentials with some poolside fun. That’s a wrap on our final week of summer camp! ☀️

It's hard to believe that our summer sessions of swim lessons at the Arlington Recreation Center are wrapping up this week. But don’t worry—new sessions are right around the corner!
Check out all the amazing things our little swimmers have been learning; water safety skills, beginner strokes, confidence in and around the pool, and of course plenty of water‑adventure fun with our incredible instructors.
We’re so proud of their progress and can’t wait to welcome everyone back for the next session!

Bring your creativity and join us this Friday at Arlington Recreation Center for **“Chalk the Trail” ** — a bright, colorful way to explore nature and imagination together! Make your own chalk, create a design, and help transform our paved trail into a vibrant community artwork.

You’ll also have a chance to **vote for our new mascot**!
Will it be **Puddle the Platypus**, **Skipper the Squirrel**, **Osprey the Pelican**, or **Sasquatchito**?

🌿 Happy Park and Recreation Professionals Day! 🌿
As part of Park and Recreation Month, we’re proud to celebrate Park and Recreation Professionals Day on Friday, July 17, 2026. This is a special day to recognize all the dedicated professionals who help build strong, vibrant, and resilient communities through the power of parks and recreation.
To help us observe this day, join us in the Payne Park amphitheater from 9:30 AM to 11:30 AM for Backyard Games, laughter, and plenty of outdoor fun. It’s a free event, and a great way to celebrate our amazing team while enjoying time with the community.
