The summer is heating up at The City of Sarasota Parks and Rec Dept, and this July we’re excited to celebrate Park and Recreation Month through the national 2026 NRPA theme: “The Power Of.” Throughout the month, we’ll be showcasing the power of parks and recreation to connect, inspire and strengthen our Sarasota community.

Our July events are designed to highlight the power of bringing people together in Sarasota’s parks, green spaces and recreation facilities. These experiences create opportunities for families to spend time together, kids to make new friends, neighbors to connect, and everyone to enjoy the outdoors in meaningful ways.

We can’t wait to celebrate with you all month long and highlight The Power Of community, connection and shared outdoor experiences across Sarasota.

What an incredible couple of weeks here at Robert L. Taylor Community Complex Summer Camp ☀️🎉

Our campers have been making memories every single day! From cooling off on our exciting swim days, to showing off their moves during dance sessions with the Van Wezel team 💃🕺, the fun never stopped.

We also had an amazing time learning new skills during our lacrosse clinics with Coach Bragg 🥍, and our field trips were a huge hit! Campers enjoyed bowling strikes 🎳, catching a movie 🍿, and cheering on the Tampa Bay Rays at the ballpark ⚾️.

Thank you to our campers, families, staff, and community partners for making Weeks 2 & 3 so special. We can’t wait to see what the rest of the summer has in store!
