Hot take // a room full of people practicing + resting is not something we feel entitled to capture.
At Bhavana, phones stay away during practice.
We don’t film classes.
We don’t take photos of people in savasana.
We don’t turn your practice into marketing material.
We’re not against social media, we’re against losing the ability to experience something without needing to package it. The energy also changes the moment people feel watched.
Yoga asks us to turn inward.
To soften performance, to notice, to listen, to be present in our bodies instead of curating how those bodies are perceived.
There’s something rare + deeply human about being in a room where nobody is wondering:
“Am I in the background?”
“Is someone filming?”
“How do I look?”
Just practice. Breath. Effort. Rest.
Could we do curated content days with consent? Sure. But during actual class time, the practice itself + protecting the integrity of space + your privacy matters more to us than the marketing of it.
This practice was never meant to revolve around visibility, validation, or performance.
In a world where almost everything is documented, optimized, posted, tracked, + consumed… we believe privacy is sacred.
AND A ROOM FULL OF PEOPLE LYING IN SAVASANA DOES NOT NEED A CAMERA IN IT.
🌻Pratyahara // the turning attention inward instead of outward.
🌷Aparigraha // not grasping for attention, validation, or more content
🪻Satya // authenticity over performance
🪷Saucha // creating a clean, undisturbed space mentally + energetically
Some of the most meaningful moments in our studio will never be posted online.
And we’re okay with that.
