Lynn was recently featured on Dr. David Sugarโs Unprocessed Sugar podcast for a thoughtful conversation about yoga as intelligent self-care.
The conversation explored yoga not just as stretching or exercise, but as a practice that supports movement, breath, balance, body awareness, nervous system regulation, and healthy aging.
Weโre grateful to Dr. Sugar and his team for the opportunity to share more about the heart of our work at Yoga from the Heart.

If you think yoga is just about stretching, youโre missing its biggest benefit.
-
In this episode of UnProcessed Sugar, Dr. David Sugar sits down with Lynn Burgess, owner and lead teacher of Yoga from the Heart, to uncover how yoga can help regulate your nervous system, reduce stress, improve strength and stability, and help you move with greater ease.
-
With more than 25 years of teaching experience, Lynn explains why yoga isnโt about touching your toes or twisting into impossible poses. Itโs about building a healthier relationship with your body and creating lasting physical and mental resilience.
-
Whether youโve never stepped on a yoga mat or youโve been practicing for years, this conversation may change the way you think about yoga.

Summer has its own rhythm.
Schedules change. Travel happens. Routines loosen. And sometimes practice quietly slips away.
But your yoga practice doesnโt have to disappear in the summer.
It can be simpler. Gentler. More spacious.
One class. One Zoom session. One private session.
One small return to your body. That counts.
At Yoga from the Heart, weโre here through the quieter months with in-studio classes, Zoom options, and private sessions to help you stay connected to your body and your practice.
Come as you are. Weโll meet you there.

We are so grateful for the students, caregivers, and volunteers who make this class such a meaningful community.
Teaching yoga for people with Parkinsonโs has been one of the most meaningful parts of our work at Yoga from the Heart.
This class is about so much more than movement.
It is about confidence. Confidence. Connection. Adaptability.
And learning how to work with the body with patience and respect.
We are deeply grateful for our wonderful volunteer teaching assistants who help make this class feel supported, safe, and welcoming. Their presence matters more than they may know.
This is the heart of what we do: thoughtful yoga, caring support, and a community that meets people where they are.
