Come out and support Cardinal Mooney Lacrosse and a great cause Lax Against Leukemia is a preseason high school lacrosse tournament to benefit the Joey Powers Leukemia Project. The 10th annual event will be on Saturday, February 10th, hosted at Premier Sports Campus. The 2024 lineup will include over 50 girls and boys high school teams from Florida. Joey Powers played at Cardinal Mooney High School before losing his fight with pediatric leukemia. The Joey Powers Leukemia Project was founded by his family in 2010, with a mission to provide financial assistance and resources for families battling pediatric leukemia. Proceeds raised from the tournament go directly towards supporting that mission.

Sending prayers to Preston and his family for a full and speedy recovery 🙏🏻♥️

Tampa lacrosse community - Berkeley Prep junior Preston Jones was involved in a catastrophic car accident returning home after the team’s game last night. He was rushed to the ICU with a lacerated spleen, broken ribs, multiple facial fractures, and bleeding around his brain.

The family is asking for the collective prayers of the tight-knit lacrosse community during this tragedy. Please keep Preston and his family in your prayers.

Update from noon on 4/4:

Preston is responsive. He isn’t speaking, but can squeeze his parents hands and move his toes. Brain swelling hasn’t gotten any worse, which is the best news for now.
