Sometimes the best coaching happens in the middle of a round.
While the class was getting live rounds in, Coach Adam was watching, giving pointers, and helping students make adjustments as situations came up naturally.
It's one thing to learn a technique during instruction. It's another to have someone paying attention while you're actually trying to apply it.
Those little conversations and adjustments between rounds can go a long way. 🐬

An ankle lock gets a whole lot more effective when the details are right.
Coach Dylan walking the class through the finishing mechanics and the small adjustments that make the submission tighter, cleaner, and more controlled.
Position first. Details second. Then the finish.
The more you understand the mechanics, the less you have to rely on strength. 🐬

Getting to the position is just as important as knowing what to do once you're there.
The class worked on entering ashi from shin to shin, using the connection from bottom to create an opening and establish control of the leg.
It's always cool seeing both sides of a position come together. Learning how to enter it, understanding the control, and then knowing how to navigate it when you're the one defending.
More tools for the toolbox. 🐬
