Biscay Coaching’s power couple does it again!! Dave Lundberg Amy Hite both took their age group WINs on Sunday at Ironman Wisconsin and are qualified to return to Kona again in 2027!! We couldn’t be more proud of these two and their dedication to excellence year after year.

Fun fact: Dave had to make a pass in the final mile to ultimately win by 20 seconds , and in doing so, ran his fastest Ironman Wisconsin marathon of 18 outings there, at 62 years young! In the meantime, Amy dominated her age group from wire to wire, winning by over an hour. Next up: Kona next month!

We have another first-time IRONMAN: will henceforth be known as IRONMIKE!! With minimal triathlon experience, Mike decided one year ago that he’d celebrate his 60th trip around the sun this year by training for his first Ironman. This was an extremely ambitious goal given where he was starting, and from day one Mike and Coach Donna Phelan “hurried slowly”— and unrelentingly—towards this goal.

The result is pictured here: a hard- earned 60th birthday 🎁of an Ironman Copenhagen finish last week. IRONMIKE, we are so very proud of you!!!!!!

Matt Schlanser was 7th overall male and 1st masters at the Columbia River Olympic Triathlon last weekend. It was a great training race before Tri Cities 70.3 in September!

This is our 50+ DreamCrusher crew right here!!
Last Sunday as temps neared 100 degrees , these 3 Biscay Coaching athletes gave the youngsters a run for their money at the Chisago Lakes Half Iron!

Kari Myrland at 67 years young finished smack in the middle of the women’s field despite having 7 years on the next competitor. ⭐️

Dave Lundberg dominated his 60-64 age group by 37 minutes!! 🥇

Amy Hite at 50 years young finished 4th overall in the women’s field! 💪

It was a great day for this team, all of whom are prepping for another hot and steamy day at the World Championships in Kona in October!

Last month Katie Tobin celebrated one year post-op for a surgery to fix her broken foot after an unfortunate step off a curb. This year has been focused on getting back to form with strength as our base layer, and it’s starting to pay off. This month she took the female win at the Boulder Peak Olympic Aquabike (second overall!), and finished the Blue Sky Hill Climb - 6.7k feet of climbing in 56 miles!

Next up is a self supported ride of the Copper Triangle. Can’t wait to hear about it!

Our 45-49 ladies were 🔥 in Lake Placid last weekend!! We had both Laura Brezin Kern & Bridget Grandmaison Freudenberger in the top ten in their age group— in a full field on one of the toughest courses on the Ironman circuit! So very proud of this!

It was a Biscay Coaching meet-up at Oregon 70.3 last weekend for Daniel Syring, Laura Pigion and Matt Schlanser! Dan and Laura placed 7th and 16th in their respective age groups. Laura was 9th and earned herself a spot to 70.3 World Championships! It was a great day out west 👏!

From the course in Sandusky to the streets of Chattanooga, Ashley Brewer adds herself to our 2027 IM 70.3 World Championship roster! 5th place in her Age Group at 70.3 Ohio, she was all smiles! Congrats to Ashley and Coach !

Upcoming race: Vermont 100 (an Old School Ultra) is on July 17th in West Windsor, VT. RD, Amy Rusiecki, wrote about her tradition to guide a visually impaired athlete in the opening miles of the race each year. In 2025 she guided Alison Roy, who went on to become the first female visually impaired athlete to finish the Vermont 100-mile race.

We ❤️ our local races! .hetherington.35 and Eric both raced last weekend at Diamond in the Rough Triathlon. With a cancelled swim and a shortened bike, it ended up not being the day they planned for, but both guys rolled with it and ended up first in their respective age groups!
