BREAKING: The bill has PASSED in the House.

Could this finally be the end of changing the clocks?

The U.S. House has passed the Sunshine Protection Act, a bill that would make Daylight Saving Time permanent nationwide and eliminate the twice-a-year time change.

The bill now heads to the Senate. A similar measure passed there in 2022 but never became law.

If approved, Oklahoma could keep those 8:00 PM summer sunsets all year long, but it would also mean some very late winter sunrises with the sun not coming up until after 8 AM in parts of the state.
