The CapitolaMan will be California Central Coast's first full distance triathlon. Distances are a 2.4 mile swim, a 112 mile bike, and a 26.2 mile run.
Welcome to the central coast's first full triathlon. The course has been designed by a veteran triathlete and race director to share some of the scenic beauty and natural wonders of our area with racers from all over the world. Capitola and Santa Cruz are just 30 miles south of the Silicon Valley and only 90 minutes from San Francisco. Fall is the most beautiful time of year in Northern California
and in Capitola and Santa Cruz. The afternoons get warm and the water temperature is as 'nice as it gets' hovering in the low 60's. The swim takes place at Seacliff State Park Beach. It is a two lap triangular course. The swim can be viewed from the surrounding bluffs. Throughout the course safety is first. A well designed bike route will keep the participants off major roads and highways as they ride towards the Salinas Valley and the Santa Lucia Mountains on this out and back course. The bike course offers long lines of sight, minimal turns, and flat to rolling terrain allowing the riders to focus on pace and tempo. The course promises to be fast as it only climbs a bit over 2,000 ft of elevation along the way. The run was designed to give our visitors a glimpse of the beautiful and natural Nisene Marks State Park. This wonderful park of 2nd and 3rd growth redwoods provides a cooling cover and stunning backdrop to a soft, off pavement run. As the run gains only 900 feet elevation, it will be fast as well.
