I couldn’t agree more
After years of teaching, I've realized something...
Most people don't avoid line dancing because they don't like dancing.
They avoid it because of how they think they'll feel.
Here are the 10 reasons I hear the most:
1. They're afraid of looking foolish.
2. They think everyone else already knows the dances.
3. They believe they're "too old" to start.
4. They think they have no rhythm.
5. They don't want to come alone.
6. They think line dancing is only for a certain age group.
7. They're self-conscious about their body or fitness level.
8. They've convinced themselves dancing just isn't for them.
9. They don't realize beginner friendly classes exist.
10. They're waiting until they feel more confident, even though line dancing is often what builds confidence.
Here's what's interesting...
Almost everyone who walks through our doors for the first time has felt at least one of these.
A few classes later, they're laughing, making friends, moving with confidence, and asking themselves, "Why didn't I do this sooner?"
Now I'm curious...
If you've never tried line dancing, which one sounds the most like you?
If you already line dance, which one almost stopped you from getting started?
Or did I miss one? Let me know in the comments.
