As Lahinch Golf Club in Ireland hosts the Walker Cup, we share a short story on Alister MacKenzie’s role in the course’s history and architecture, courtesy of mackenziesociety.org.
Keep in mind, Marion Hollins decides to build Pasatiempo in Jan., 1928. The timing of MacKenzie coming back to the States to build Cypress Point and Pasatiempo, both opening in 1929, was impeccable. So was the work they all did together.

Michael Zaballos is back at the mic breaking down the 5th hole, a 158- to 190-yard par 3. It’s the 6th handicap hole for the men, 4th for the women. Any thoughts or feedback on 5?

Anyone shocked that at the 2026 Western Intercollegiate, the 3rd hole was the toughest relative to par, had a scoring average of 3.59 and yielded the most bogeys and doubles+? 👹
