“It takes a village . . .

One of my favorite parts of this founder job is getting to talk to our customers. We get to talk about nature, vehicles, camping gear, and the best part . . . we talk about all your rad trips!

I can get a little near-sighted and only plan trips in and around the Sierras near where we live, so getting to hear about all these awesome spots around the country is really special.

This year its even more special because I haven’t been able to go on any trips. I injured my achilles back in March and the recovery has been super slow with a few setbacks making it even slower.

I’ve had a ton of support from my family and friends; Aaron’s been putting in extra hours at the shop; and our talented photographer friend Jo Savage helped pull off an awesome photoshoot with me hobbling around. But the unexpected treat has been hearing about your experiences out on the road with The Hideaway.

You’ll quickly have a few interesting weekend road trips planned out. As a New England kid I never met the desert until I was much older. It’s stark, and glorious. Empty but full of things waiting to be found. If this book doesn’t make you want to out and explore the desert I don’t know what will.
