The two first stages of Tour cycliste de l'Abitibi Glencore Glencore have kept us on the edges of our seats, in Rouyn-Noranda, Québec. This is a UCI Nations Cup event for juniors. The only one in the world, outside of Europe, for the women.
Stage 3 is next on the menu: a final road race before attacking the time trial around the lake Osisko, tomorrow, stage 4.
Cycling Canada has been dominating the race with Élodie Malois in the Brown Glencore leader jersey, and Sandrine Veilleux in the Blue Sûreté du Québec Best 1st Year Junior jersey.
But nobody's letting them get this win without putting up a good fight. We're seeing awesome teamwork from Milton Revolution Racing (Julia currently in the Desjardins Group Polka Dot jersey), brilliantly inspiring shows of tenancity from Monarch Racing (if only they could hear the cheers from the finish line as we watch on the big screen!), exciting attacking from FQSC Équipe du Québec, super positioning with often lined up together near the front, showing their colours in the intermediate sprints and QOMs (despite long travel and jet lag!) and Équipe Cycliste Sports Experts making the hometown crowds proud.
Lots can happen in two days! (Before climbing back on stage to announce, I'll go play outside - it's beautiful here in !)
Thanks to all of the sponsors, and thanks to hevii technologie GmbH for their support of my role, announcing here at Tour de l'Abitibi Glencore

Heading to for the 2026 UCI Nations Cup, Glencore Tour cycliste de l'Abitibi Glencore ! I'll have the privilege of announcing this year's women's race.
This is the only UCI race for junior women, outside of Europe, and a last chance for nations to score qualifying points for the montreal_2026 UCI World Championships.
Abitibi is a beautiful region with spectacular landscapes. It's brilliant for riding, and I am excited for the racers who are coming from around the world to compete at the Glencore Tour de l'Abitibi, who will get to experience it in person.
This is also a very important area for Canada's mining industry; thanks to all of the sponsors from the industry for being so involved in this event. I personally thank "hevii technologie GmbH" for supporting my specific role.
Races start July 10!

This week I'm off to announce at the UCI Nations Cup event, Tour de l'Abitibi.
This is the only Nations Cup in North America - and an important race in many athletes' career.
Many of the racers who come from around the world to race here in Northern Quebec will go on to compete at Le Tour de France, World Championships and Olympic Games.
It's especially exciting for me to be involved with this event, because it ties two things that I love, together:

, the countdown is on. In 15 days, I’ll be back in Abitibi, Québec a core region of Canada’s and primary resources sector. It's a backbone of the country’s mining industry, which has been important to me for some time. What makes this trip especially exciting for me, is that i...

Once an athlete, always an athlete. In everything we do.

Some of my favourite days are spent on site. It's incredibly satisfying being part getting critical work right the first time. Plus, you can take the person out of a pro athlete role, but I don't think the pro athlete ever gets removed from the person: Long days, early starts, technical challenges,....
