📣 SSC COACH’S SPOTLIGHT 📣

Our Summer Coach’s Spotlight Series continues as we recognize a coach who wears many hats and approaches each one with dedication, humility, and a true passion for serving student-athletes.

This week, we’re proud to feature Coach Toby Kloewer! 💜💛

Now entering his 13th year in education and 7th year at Sanger High School, Coach Kloewer serves as a Special Education Inclusion Teacher while coaching Middle School Volleyball, High School Powerlifting, and High School Golf. This year, he embraced new opportunities by taking on the challenge of leading our powerlifting and golf programs while returning to coach middle school volleyball.

Originally from a small town in Iowa, Coach Kloewer values the close-knit community that shaped him growing up. It’s that same small-town atmosphere that makes Sanger feel like home, and it’s one of the many reasons he loves being part of the Tribe.

Family is at the center of everything Coach Kloewer does. He and his wife, Emily, have two children. His daughter recently completed her freshman year of collegiate softball at Daytona State College, while his son, Everett, is a student-athlete at Sanger High School competing in football and baseball.

One of Coach Kloewer’s favorite things about Sanger is the incredible support from the community. As he says, seeing the entire town rally behind its schools and student-athletes is something truly special.

Thank you, Coach Kloewer, for your commitment to our students, your willingness to take on new challenges, and for making a difference every day in the classroom and in competition.

💜💛 For the Team. For the Town. For the Tribe.

📣 SSC COACH’S SPOTLIGHT 📣

Our Summer Coach’s Spotlight Series continues as we recognize a coach whose decades of leadership, faith, and commitment have made a lasting impact on generations of student-athletes.

This week, we’re honored to feature Coach Bobby “Bubba” Stastny! 💜💛

With 38 years in education and coaching, Coach Bubba has dedicated his career to investing in young people. Now entering his 4th year in Sanger ISD, he serves as a DAEP PE Teacher, Head Boys Basketball Coach, and High School Track Coach, helping shape student-athletes both in competition and in life.

Coach Bubba’s greatest pride, however, is his family. He and his high school sweetheart, Karla, are celebrating nearly 40 years of marriage this August. Together they’ve built a wonderful family that now includes children, grandchildren, and countless memories centered around faith and family.

When he’s not coaching, you’ll likely find him spending time with loved ones, or enjoying fishing, hunting, golfing, and tennis. Through it all, Coach Bubba remains grounded in his faith, giving all the glory and thanks to the Lord for the blessings in his life.

Thank you, Coach Bubba, for nearly four decades of leadership, mentorship, and service to student-athletes. Your passion for coaching, love for people, and unwavering faith continue to leave a lasting legacy.

📣 SSC COACH’S SPOTLIGHT 📣

Our Summer Coach’s Spotlight Series continues with a coach whose journey has truly come full circle.

This week, we’re proud to feature Coach Nicholas Sparks! 💜💛

Originally from Denison, Coach Sparks began his football journey as a ball boy for Coach Chad Rogers, later played for him, and now has the opportunity to coach alongside him. It’s a great reminder that the relationships built through athletics can come full circle and leave a lasting impact.

Now entering his 5th year in education and coaching and his 3rd year in Sanger, Coach Sparks serves as an assistant coach in both football and baseball, working with the wide receivers on the gridiron and outfielders on the diamond.

His energy, enthusiasm, and passion for developing young athletes make him an outstanding role model for the next generation of Indians. Whether it’s Friday nights under the lights or spring afternoons on the baseball field, Coach Sparks is committed to helping student-athletes grow both as competitors and as young men.

And congratulations are also in order to Coach Sparks and his wife, Coach Ashley Hedrick, on their recent marriage! We wish them nothing but the best as they continue serving the Sanger community together.

As the graphic says…
“Once a Ball Boy, Always a Coach.” 💜💛

Thank you, Coach Sparks, for everything you do for the Tribe!

For the Town. For the Team. For the Tribe.

📣 SSC COACH’S SPOTLIGHT 📣

Our Summer Coach’s Spotlight Series continues as we recognize a coach whose experience, leadership, and servant’s heart have impacted students and athletes across Texas for more than two decades.

This week, we’re proud to shine the spotlight on Coach Julie Armstrong! 💜💛

Beginning her 24th year in education and 2nd year at Sanger Middle School, Coach Julie brings an incredible wealth of experience to the Tribe. From teaching English, Mathematics, and Physical Education to serving as a guidance counselor and campus principal, her career has been centered on helping students succeed. She now pours that same passion into the classroom as a Math Teacher while assisting with volleyball, basketball, and track at the middle school.

Coach Julie’s coaching background spans every level of volleyball, basketball, track, and tennis, and her commitment to developing young people extends well beyond athletics. Her strong faith, leadership, and dedication to serving others are evident in everything she does.

She and her husband, Coach Chris Armstrong, have been married for nearly 17 years, and together with their daughters, Collins and Abigail, have embraced the Sanger community as their home.

As Coach Julie shares in her spotlight, her favorite verse is:

“Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord and not for men… You are serving the Lord Christ.” — Colossians 3:23-24

Thank you, Coach Julie, for the wisdom, encouragement, and leadership you bring to our students, athletes, and community every day. We’re blessed to have you as part of the Tribe!
