That's a wrap on 2026 β€” and somewhere along the way this stopped being a softball league.

Look at the photos. There are kids in them. Wives, husbands, moms, dogs. Guys who showed up alone on a Sunday two years ago and now have a group chat, a nickname, and eleven people who'd help them move. We keep score because you have to keep score. That was never the point.

πŸ† YOUR 2026 CHAMPIONS πŸ†

πŸ₯Ž Season Champs β€” Capt. Fer Romo
πŸ₯Ž Memorial Day, Men's β€” Capt. Thomas Soeby
πŸ₯Ž Labor Day, Men's β€” Capt. Anthony Lucero
πŸ₯Ž Labor Day, Coed β€” Capt. Thomas Soeby

Soeby took two of the four. Two different divisions, two different rosters, same guy holding the ring at the end of the night. That's not luck.

And Anthony Lucero finally got his first-ever win!

Rings are out. Bragging rights are locked in for a full year. Everybody in those four photos earned it. Jerseys are being ordered and will be handed out when they arrive.

NOW THE PART THAT ACTUALLY MATTERS. πŸ™

None of this happens by itself. Not one weekend of it.

The Morrison Family β€” Anthony Morrison, Gabby, and the whole crew. Tacos. Every week. All season. Not a one-time favor. Week after week after week, and every single person who played this year ate because of them.

Jodi Hollingshead Frkovich β€” Bracken Frkovich's mom β€” covered half our meat for the BBQ through Main Street Quality Meats. That's why nobody went hungry on either tournament weekend.

Gary Burkeβ€” every hamburger and hot dog bun, every tournament weekend, plus pastries nobody asked for, and everybody ate.

Frankie, Albert and Jeff β€” for running the raffles and the BBQs. Standing over a grill all day while everybody else plays ball is not a glamour job, and the food line never stopped moving.

Anthony Lucero β€” yeah, the same guy who finally got his ring. Before you ever played a game, he hauled his ATV out and dragged the fields. Every week. That's why the infield played true instead of like a gravel lot, and most of you never knew it was happening.

And thank you to Alishia Proctor and AFA for teaming up with us on the Labor Day tournaments, and to Moose Management Vacation Rentals Park City, Christopher Hall- State Farm Agent, and Gameface Sports.

When these people show up for us, show up for them. That's how this works.

___________________________________________________________________

AND ONE MORE THING, BECAUSE IT'S ABOUT ALL OF YOU. 🧹

After Labor Day weekend, the neighbors around Bicentennial thanked us for how clean we left the park.

Sit with that. Two full days, four fields, 240-plus players, a BBQ, a raffle, kids everywhere β€” and the people who live around that park came to us with a thank you instead of a complaint. That doesn't happen by accident and it isn't something I did. That's every single one of you picking up after yourselves without being asked.

That's the whole reason we get to keep coming back to these fields. Don't lose it.

NEXT YEAR IS GETTING BETTER. πŸ‘€

One long summer season is out. Two shorter seasons are in.

πŸ₯Ž Spring season β€” season 1 of 2
πŸ₯Ž Fall season β€” season 2 of 2
πŸ₯Ž Memorial Day β€” draft tournament
πŸ₯Ž Labor Day β€” draft tournament, men's AND coed

Better weather on both ends, less burnout in July, and two shots at a ring instead of one.

________________________________________________________________________

πŸ‘€ AND ONE HONEST QUESTION: WENDOVER.

We've floated the idea of a destination draft tournament in Wendover, NV next year. Some of you said hell yes immediately. Some of you got quiet β€” and that's just as useful to know.

To be clear: this would be on top of Memorial Day and Labor Day, not instead of them. Those aren't going anywhere.

Nothing is booked. Nothing is priced. We have people out there who'd help us pull it off, so we're asking before we build anything:

Would you make the trip? And if you're hesitating β€” what's the reason? Cost? The drive? Not wanting to get a room? Give us the real answer, not the polite one. If the interest is there we build it. If it isn't, we don't. No hard feelings either way.

_________________________________________________________________________

πŸ“Έ NOW SHOW US YOURS.

Drop your photos from the season in the comments. Dugout shots, diving catches, the BBQ line, your kid (or Frankie) asleep in a camp chair, the bad calls, all of it. We want to see this year through your phones and not just ours.

Thank you for an unreal season. Every one of you. See you in the spring. πŸ₯ŽπŸ†

πŸ₯Ž TOURNAMENT RULES β€” READ BEFORE SATURDAY πŸ₯Ž

Everything you need before first pitch. Captains, screenshot these and drop them in your team chat.

A few that changed or trip people up every year:

⚾ Bat compression is 240 β€” we'll have a tester on site
⚾ Every batter starts on a 1-1 count
⚾ EARN IT AND TURN IT β€” you cross the plate, YOU turn your run on the scorecard. Not turned, didn't happen.
⚾ One home run hitter per inning
⚾ Any part of the black mat is a strike. The plate is not.
⚾ Half a bucket of balls per field β€” every ball out of play, go get it and bring it back. Return one to the desk and get candy 🍬 Softballs are $9 apiece and we'd rather put that money in the BBQ.

πŸ“„ We'll also have these laminated at every single field, so if something comes up mid-game the answer is right there β€” nobody has to argue it from memory.

3-game guarantee. Men's Saturday, Coed Sunday.

πŸ“‹ THIS WEEKEND β€” READ THIS ONE FIRST πŸ“‹

FIRST PITCH IS 8:00 AM BOTH DAYS. BE AT YOUR FIELD BY 7:40.

🏟️ Bicentennial is home base this year β€” 530 E 8680 S, Sandy. BBQ, raffle, pavilion and both championships are all there.
🏟️ Crescent Park β€” 230 E 11000 S, Sandy. Check the bracket for where YOU start.

✍️ CAPTAINS: your team signs a waiver before your first pitch. No signatures, no start. Find Brandon at Bicentennial or Alisha at Crescent the second you get to the park.

πŸ” FREE BBQ both days at the Bicentennial East basketball court. Grill fires up around 10–11 AM, shuts down at 4 PM. Players AND your family eat. Tip your grill cook β€” they're working all day for tips.

🎟️ RAFFLE BREAK β€” Sat 1:30, Sun 1:00. 3 to 4 bats going home each day plus a 50/50 cash raffle. You can't win if you're not there.

β˜€οΈ Sunday the Bicentennial pavilion is ours all day. Saturday it's ours until 2:00 β€” bring a canopy and chairs for the afternoon.

🀝 And the big one: be good to each other. Umpires can eject, we back them, and it costs you one game. Being rude to an umpire, calling people names or starting fights gets you removed from this community for good. Pick up your trash. Keep smoke away from the crowd. Respect the people who don't drink.

We're all grown adults out here and there will be kids running around all weekend. Let's show them how adults are supposed to act.

E.L.E. β€” Everybody Love Everybody.

MEN'S TEAMS ARE SET.

13 teams. 143 players. Saturday, first pitch 8:00 AM.

We went 13 teams of 11 instead of 12 teams of 12. Thinner rosters mean a bigger cut of the batting order and more innings in the field for everybody. Nobody's driving to Sandy to take two at-bats and watch.

Find your name, find your captain, and reach out tonight. Do not show up Saturday still wondering who you play for.

Be at the field by 7:40. Bicentennial Park is 530 E 8680 S, Crescent Park is 230 E 11000 S, both in Sandy. Check the bracket to see which one you start atβ€”they are not next door to each other.

Free BBQ all day at the Bicentennial Pavilion.

See you Saturday.

πŸ¦‡ FINAL CAPTAIN OF THE NIGHT: Anthony Lucero "GORDO" πŸ¦‡

Coach and captain of SMASH-U. Five years in Sunday Sandlot. Also runs with the Isotopes and Dirty Dozen. The man is everywhere.

You know him as the guy with the bats. ALL of the bats. If you've ever cracked one mid-game, snapped a handle, or just showed up empty-handed β€” Gordo had you covered out of his trunk. He owns every bat ever made and he'll happily sell you one. 😌

None of them have fixed his swing, but that's between him and the bats. 🀝

And the man is TOUGH. He went full send over the fence chasing an out. Not sure if he caught it, but the wrist did not survive. πŸ’ͺ

⏰ LAST CALL β€” SIGN-UPS CLOSE TOMORROW MORNING AND WE DRAFT RIGHT AFTER.

Last-minute sign-ups have been pouring in all night and we're nearly full. If you've been putting it off, do it before bed. Takes 30 seconds.

πŸ‘€ Started signing up but never finished checkout? You're not in the draft until it's paid. If your name is in the pending section of the flyer, that's you. Handle it tonight.
