🙌 Nearly 1,500 kids. One incredible opportunity.

As our Fall 1 season gets underway, more than 1,120 kids are participating in Paladin recreational programs — up more than 30% from Fall 1 last year!

Add in our Arizona club programs, and nearly 1,500 young athletes are repping a Paladin jersey as we kick off fall sports.

We’re grateful for the growth, but the number itself is never the goal.

Every number represents a child we can encourage, a family we can serve and an opportunity to share the love of Christ through sports.

Thank you to the coaches, volunteers, staff, donors, churches and partners who make this possible.

Most of all, we thank God for opening these doors and entrusting us with the opportunity to serve.

More kids. More families. More opportunities to glorify God through sports. 💙

Pressure reveals what we truly value. 🔍

There is a difference between stating our values and holding firmly to them when they cost us something.

Youth sports is filled with good values: character, development, faith, family and putting kids first. But those convictions become much harder to uphold when winning, playing time, recognition or opportunity is threatened.

Pressure reveals not only what we say matters, but where we have placed our confidence.

We believe there are far more children and families to reach than any one church or sports ministry could ever serve.

That is why we do not view churches and other Christ-centered organizations using sports for ministry as competition. We share a greater purpose: bringing glory to God, spreading the Gospel, and demonstrating the love of Christ to children and families.

Some churches operate leagues on their own fields and in their own gyms. Others partner with schools, parks, nonprofits, or ministries like Paladin. The model may differ, but the mission should unite us.

Paladin founder Jason Best explores this opportunity in a new article for Religious Product News: “Why Church Sports Matter More Than Ever.”

Our hope and prayer is that churches and sports ministries everywhere will recognize the mission field before them and that each of these ministries will be blessed and flourish.

There is a difference between learning from the past and living there.

Youth sports gives us plenty of reasons to look back. We replay mistakes, second-guess decisions, romanticize previous teams and allow disappointment to shape how we approach whatever comes next.

The past may help explain where we are but it does not get to decide where Christ is leading us next.

Fall 2 is coming up quickly, and now is a great time to get your kids registered for another season of Faith, Family, and Fun.

From first-time players learning the game to returning athletes ready for another season with their teammates, Paladin is about giving kids a place to play, grow, belong, and experience sports in a Christ-centered community.

Early Bird Registration ends Sunday, September 13. Register before the deadline and save $15 per player.

South Tucson showed up! ❤️⚽

What an incredible morning at our FREE Soccer Clinic this past Saturday at John F. Kennedy Park! More than 75 kids joined us for a morning filled with soccer, fun, community, and plenty of smiles.

A huge thank you to the volunteers who gave their time to serve these kids and families, and to everyone who helped make the morning special with Bibles, music, popcorn, sno cones, and more.

This is what Sports Outreach is all about: using sports to bring people together, serve families, and share the love of Christ.

South Tucson, we're just getting started.

There’s nothing wrong with getting better.
