Meet Coach Eric ✨
1. How long have you been coaching?
I received my CrossFit Level 1 Trainer in June 2022 just out of personal interest. It was great training in functional movements and the importance of nutrition. I then coached all of 2023. After finding MVMNT I knew I had to take a break to learn from Coach Amy and experience the MVMNT good vibes. Undisputed best gym in North County!
2. What does being a coach mean to you?
MVMNT is one of my happy places. The moving, the conversation, the laughs and learning, the shared suffering, and (of course) the grind. I love it all. Being a coach means cultivating a space for people to experience all of that for their holistic health. If I can help contribute to not only their experience in the gym, but also their well-being in all of life, that gets me fired up.
3. More about you:
I’m married (to Katie) and we have 4 rad kids; Enoch, Eunice, Elsie Jo, and Ephraim. I’m a SD native and we live in Vista. I’m also a local pastor, which is kind of like a soul coach.
4. Special areas of interest:
Our family loves to travel. And I have tons of other interests but this season of life I spend my free time chauffeuring my kids in a mini-van.
5. Fun facts:
In my senior year of high school, I played the Cowardly Lion in the musical The Wizard of Oz with no theater background and having got an F in choir my sophomore year. And I crushed it. Turns out you can do anything you set your mind to.
