Adult ballet becomes something more than just learning steps.

It becomes a place to breathe purposefully, move your body, spending time doing something just for you, and surprise yourself.

We are thrilled to see so many new adult ballet dancers return to the studio and the stage after years away OR STARTING for the first time in their 20-40s!

Congratulations to our dancers who completed this summer’s 1-Week Adult Ballet Camp 🩰 and the dancers who performed at the Summer Performances ☀️

Hearing the joy, community, and “I did it!!” from these dancers makes it all the more meaningful 💕

Biggest thank you to the crew who prepared & broke down the Blackbox, ran lights & cameras, and so so much more. There is a TON of behind the scenes work that goes into these shows!

And of course, thank you to our wonderful audience. Your laughter, support, and love mean the world to us and our dancers. Your presence is what gives the beauty of live performance its life & energy!

We laughed, we teared up, we celebrated creativity, we cheered on first time dancers, and we marveled at the growth of so many dancers! This is what the arts and BT-SLO are all about 💕

The legacy of Ballet goes on!
The voices of choreographers from the past and present challenge, train and inspire new generations.
I have had a fantastic turn dancing incredible works.
When the time came I stepped up to the creative plate.
These choreographers (living or having passed) were there to inspire me.
They still do.
As Artistic Director at Ballet Theatre San Luis Obispo I was recently inspire to give our Youth Ballet an opportunity to each create and choreograph a piece for performance.
They were thrilled!
I gave them tools.
They went to work!
They have participated in every aspect of performance including lighting.
I am so proud of them.
