Why is it called "Battle" of the Bay? Well sometimes the Bay is like this - a battle. This legendary photo by Peter Spain shows Mark Athanicio (John Alexiou completed this too he's just not in the photo!) just after rounding the mark at the top of the course in the 2014 race. John is just under the Golden Gate Bridge in this amazing shot - that's not surf - It's just the San Francisco Bay doing San Francisco Bay things. Note we have always have a protected short course for those who don't need to do "Battle"!

Saturday August 1st the Watermans Landing - Tahoe Waterman Paddle Jam. It's totally jammin' with family fun paddle racing. See you on the lake.

September is going to be great! The PaddleSplash Festival on the 11th-13th sits right between the Tahoe Paddle Crossing on the 18th-20th and Battle of the Bay on the 26th. And the news REGISTRATION is open on all three of them!

BOOTHY! Yeah Michael BOOTH is a Battle of the Bay Champion too. 2018 to be specific. Consider this a formal invite to defend your title Boothy. We'll be ready!
