“My teenager is always in their room.”

I hear this concern from parents all the time.

The door closes. The headphones go on. The screen lights up. And the conversations that once came so easily become shorter and shorter.

As a parent, you want to give them space. But you also wonder:

Are they lonely?
Are they losing confidence?
Do they feel like they belong somewhere?

Teenagers need a place outside of school and home where they can move, laugh, struggle, improve and connect with others face-to-face.

That is what we work to provide at One Martial Arts.

When teens train together, something changes. They begin looking up instead of down. They encourage one another. They become part of a group where effort matters more than popularity and everyone is working toward becoming better.

Sometimes the first step toward bringing a teen out of their shell is simply giving them somewhere they feel they belong.

Our Teen Martial Arts Program is for ages 12–17, with classes in Millbrae and San Francisco.

It was an honor to present a $1,000 sponsorship check to the San Bruno Girls Softball League. Even more meaningful, one of the players is one of our own students, and her mom has been working tirelessly behind the scenes to help make this season a success.

Supporting organizations that give children the opportunity to grow, compete, and build confidence is something we truly believe in. Whether it’s on the mat, on the field, or in the classroom, we’re proud to stand beside the families and programs that help our kids Live Their Best Life.
