The 24-Hr Swim Relay is a wrap! I tried to post this last night from my bathtub and FB crashed (maybe too much human happiness?). Thank you to all the swimmers, volunteers, SERC for friday night dinner & happy hour and the Dolphin Club for hosting, and especially the one and only Suzie Dods who started this madness and handed her flippers over this year to Crissa, Elaine & Pia. After years of rain, hail, cold, gale winds and bomb cyclones, this year the weather gods bestowed a magical calm that kept everyone smiling, even during the witching hours between 1 and 4 am. Many swimmers mentioned how much they love this relay for the challenge to body and mind and the community it builds. It is a swimming slumber party that is weirdly fun and strangely doable.
