Summer cruise fun continues! Lots of fun on Power Squadron Island. We always enjoy doing our annual capsize drill, teaching our scouts what to do in case of a real capsize. One of our scouts stopped for a quick snack during the drill, which we don’t recommend during an actual emergency situation 🍌😄
Also did an anchor out on Conquest for our scouts to practice anchor watches!

We’re having a great first few days of cruise! So much fun sailing Conquest for the first time. Summer cruise is one of our favorite times of year, because our scouts get to apply all the skills they practice all year in a practical environment every day!
Follow our adventures for the next couple of weeks ⛵️🌊

Late post from Seafarers Regatta. We had lots of fun competing in all the different events, including ring buoy, rowing, and rope climb!
Can’t wait for next weekend 💪⚓️🚣🏼

Our scouts got to tour the Cape Sable at Pier 80 this week. It was built in South Korea in 2012 for Messina Line. Thank you to Mr. O’Callaghan for the tour! We love getting to learn more about various types of ships and the responsibilities on board as part of our program ⚓️

It’s been fun winter sailing on this month! We’re so appreciative to everyone for their generous donations to help fix up Corsair and can’t wait to sail more in the New Year once repairs are complete! ⛵️💙

2025 has been a great year of sailing, racing, rowing, going to regattas, doing advancement, and going on overnight trips this year. We are proud to offer our leadership and sailing program to over 100 scouts across the city but could use your assistance meeting our matching campaign goal! Visit https://www.zeffy.com/en-US/donation-form/stfyc-foundation-matching to learn more and please consider supporting our programs before year-end, so we can access matching funds. 🫶
In honor of Giving Tuesday, please consider donating and/or sharing this post to help us access $25,000 in matching funds so we can replace Corsair’s keel and get one of our two primary sailing vessels back on the water again!
