Does anyone else miss having a place to go in the afternoon to just.... pause?

Since Yoga Tree closed, I kept hearing from neighbors in Noe Valley and across SF that there's nowhere left in the city to practice restorative, "yin," Iyengar, or "hatha" yoga during the day. Everything offered commercially is in the evening, when many of us are fulfilling life responsibilities or already in our PJs.

So this summer I started offering exactly that: Restorative Yoga, Wednesdays 1:00-1:50pm at my studio within Mobu (1605 Church St). Non-heated, all levels.

A light flow to move stuck energy, followed by floor-based, prop-supported yin and Iyengar-inspired restorative asana, pranayama, and stillness — activating the parasympathetic nervous system, supporting the natural decline of cortisol in the afternoon, and pre-empting the week's physical and mental load before it accumulates in the body. An "internal body massage" to clear the mind on the path to equanimity.😌

Headcount is capped (semi-private) so you receive individualized attention and learn your unique alignment. A true, local community for deepening your yoga.

HSA/FSA accepted.

Comment "yes" and I'll send you a link to register. ✨

Teaching SUN July 12th 9-10:30a Yoga Flow SF Ocean -- my last sub for Neil Wadhawan Yoga while he's leading retreats. 🙏

Meet the youngest yoga student I've ever had the privilege of teaching. Except in this photo, she's the one teaching me. 🥰 She learned to clap in class at my shala and decided it was my turn for a lesson at her 1st birthday party.

This month we're exploring arm balances in asana practice where a beginner's mindset will unlock more than strength ever could.

Pranayama enables the body to do what the monkey mind may label as impossible.

Uddiyana bandha and deep core activation create lift, and the shoulder girdle returns to its full potential after stagnation at a desk or device.

We'll open and close with nada yoga, the practice of sound, concentration, and surrender as a path to freedom. Your voice is enough, exactly as you are!

News Alert! 🚨I'm subbing for Neil Wadhawan Yoga at Yoga Flow SF Ocean THIS Sunday June 28th 9:00-10:30am. Ocean was my home YF studio before the pandemic, and I always love coming back.

With 90 minutes, we'll go DEEP. This month's theme for my classes is spiraling meridians and Sunday is the perfect time to wring out the body to clear the mind.

Been with me all month? Come take your practice deeper. Joining me for the first time? Thre's plenty of room for self-study and experimentation. We'll also have real time for nada yoga, the practice of sound, breath, voice, and vibration as a path to union.

THIS SUNDAY 9am! Subbing for Neil Wadhawan Yoga Yoga Flow SF Ocean 🌊

Pressing pause on Sunday gardening to share yoga with all of you!

Come chant to the beat of the drum and flow in community. This is bhakti flow -- movement as devotion, vinyasa with heart.

We'll open with kirtan: call and response, in the beautiful voice you were born with. We'll build tapas in asana practice toward eka pada koundinyasana II (flying splits) and pincha mayurasana (forearm balance), followed by unwinding with myofacial release and body scan. We'll close with nada yoga, the yoga of sound -- a powerful practice you won't want to miss.

YF Ocean was my home studio in the years before the pandemic. I can't wait to be back on the floor with you. 💖

Dropins and kids 7+ yrs welcome.

NEW class for you! Chair Yoga Mondays 2p in studio or virtual

As many of you know, I run a yoga studio in Noe Valley where I offer semi-private classes and private sessions for students who have asked for more personalized, deeper practice directly with a teacher beyond commercial classes.

These classes and privates are designed so that you’re receiving personalized feedback, asking questions, and learning what your body needs on the path.

Current class schedule (link in bio to book):

✨ NEW! Chair Yoga: Mondays 2pm (in-studio or virtual)

✨ Yoga Lab Masterclass: Wednesdays 12pm

✨ Yoga for Fertility Care: Fridays 12pm

Most students come because they’re:

• Managing health challenges, injury recovery, or chronic pain
• Supporting fertility, pregnancy, postpartum, perimenopause, or postmenopause wellness
• Balancing work that requires long hours sitting or standing
• Seeking functional strength and myofascial or muscle tone balance with well-rounded practice

Recent student experiences:

– Getting into headstand within a month
– Improving posture and mobility in strength training
– Feeling supported through fertility, IVF, pregnancy, postpartum, perimenopause and postmenopause challenges
– Sleeping more deeply and consistently

My teaching blends yoga as both science and philosophy (a way of life), shaped by my background in biomedicine and healthcare, myofascial release, and traditional practice.

In small classes, students actually get to know each other — a real sense of local community (sangha)!

If a yoga practice could support one thing in your mind-body right now, what would it be?
