POV: you’re a mom of 3 and your car is basically a second home

If you’re a mom of three, you know the car isn’t just a car. It’s a beach bag, a snack station, a nap pod, and a command center all in one.

Between beach days, sports, playdates, and the never ending school run, we live in this thing. And keeping it stocked with the right essentials has been a total game changer for staying prepared and sane.

My two absolute nonnegotiables:
A first aid kit with colorful Band-Aids and stickers. This one goes a long way with kiddos, trust me.
Jumper cables. A real lifesaver, especially during the summer with kids in the car. Simple, easy to use, and such a relief to have on hand, whether it’s for us or anyone else stuck on the road.

We also always keep an extra set of clothes, some special snacks, and extra water bottles in the car for the unexpected trips, because with kids, you just never know what the day will bring.

You can have the best plan. Best habit stack. But as mama vacation comes around, a kiddo gets sick, sleep gets interrupted for days or the holidays hit - and all of a sudden your habits fold...

Here’s the truth: consistency was never about doing it perfectly. It’s about doing it adjustably. Especially as moms!

5 habit shifts I had to learn:

1. Have a non-negotiable, not just a plan.
Build a fallback version of your habit - a 10-min walk instead of the 45-min workout. Showing up is the win, not the perfect version.

2. Celebrate wins louder than misses.
You’re already doing so much. Credit what you did do this week - that momentum is the real foundation of change, not guilt or shame.

3. Build it for your actual season, not where you would like to be.
When a habit matches your real capacity, you’ll miss fewer days. And when you do: miss one day, that’s life. Miss two in a row, that could be a pattern to notice and adjust - not a failure. And if you have to miss multiple days revisit the habit and adjust as needed.

4. When it’s not working, change the format - not the goal.
True story: in one season, I couldn’t stay consistent working out at home - even as a trainer. So I joined a group class for a few months for the structure and momentum, then moved back home once my rhythm returned. Same goal, different format. When implementing a new habit, have a ‘trial period’. If the habit doesn’t work, use that as data and adjust it to match your actual daily flow.

5. If nothing’s sticking, revisit the goal, not just the habit.
“I want to lose weight” is rarely the real goal - it’s usually “I want to feel like myself,” “have more energy,” or “feel in control again.” Get honest about the feeling underneath, then build habits that serve that.

Accountability tools: a habit tracker, an accountability buddy, or a group class/coaching container built for this season - borrowed structure works.
Consistency isn’t willpower. It’s building something flexible enough to survive real life and from there, keep showing up!

What season are you in - and what’s your one non-negotiable today?

The corner of the internet where mama wellness actually fits real life – here is what is new.

Thank you for being here. If you have followed along for a while, you know I have had my phases of being quieter on here. Honestly, it is usually because I feel disconnected from what I am sharing – when my content no longer reflects the season of life I am actually in, it gets harder to show up. That is why I am evolving this page from strictly pre/postnatal fitness to a lot more of what affects moms in daily life – nervous system regulation, fitness for the seasoned mama, recipes, nutrition, Bay Area family life, and so much more.

If you are trying to build a healthy life even when motherhood is demanding most of your time and energy – follow along. We are going to work with it, not against it.

I am excited for what is to come.

The Outdoor Fitness Club is happening during the summer - on a slightly modified schedule.

Our small group classes are built around strength, conditioning, and confidence with the core & pelvic floor in mind - and every single movement can be modified to meet you where you are. Whether you’re 3 months postpartum, deep in the toddler years, or somewhere in between, there’s a place for you here.

We focus on building real, functional strength - the kind that carries you through your day with more ease not more exhaustion. Plus the community that makes you actually want to show up.

We are meeting most Wednesdays and Fridays 9:30-10:30am at the driftwood court playground and park

A note for our postpartum mamas: We love you and we will be here when you’re ready. We do recommend taking the time to fully recover and getting your doctor’s clearance before joining us - your foundation matters and it’s worth protecting.

DM me or comment below if you have any questions or want to join the class — I’d love to have you! 👇
