Premier Racquet Shop serving the Bay Area I am Bryan Chung, and I am proud to be the new owner of City Racquet Shop!

While I may be a new face at the shop, I am not at all new to our favorite sport. I've been playing for nearly a decade and a half, including having the good fortune to participate in some international tournaments. I'm also a tennis instructor who has been volunteering with the Gay & Le***an Tennis Federation. I've also been restringing rackets for over 12 years, so you can rest assured that Marla and Sheila chose well when they turned the shop over to me!

It's never too late to pick up a racquet 🎾

Junior joined the Play Tennis Challenge with one simple goal: get active again. What he didn't expect was how much filming his sessions would help him improve.

By watching himself play, he started spotting little things he'd never noticed before—his footwork, his swing, his timing. Week after week, those small adjustments added up.

His biggest takeaway?

You don't have to be perfect. You just have to keep showing up.

Thanks, Junior, for being part of the challenge and reminding us that progress comes from stepping outside your comfort zone!

If you're thinking about joining the next Play Tennis Challenge, here's Junior's advice:

"Get out of your shell a little bit and get out of your comfort zone." 👊

Sometimes all you need is a reason to get out on court.

That's what the Play Tennis Challenge is all about. One match, one practice, one week at a time.

Before you know it, you've built a routine, met new people, and your game has improved without even realizing it.

Come join us. We'd love to have you. DM us CHALLENGE to get the full run down. 🎾

One of our favorite parts of the Play Tennis Challenge isn't just seeing people improve...

It's hearing them say they're excited to keep playing after it's over 🎾

When Rosalyn and Omar joined, they were looking for more opportunities to practice what they were learning. Twelve weeks later, they're hitting better serves, more consistent groundstrokes, building new friendships, and—most importantly—they've built a habit of getting out on court.

That was always the goal!

The challenge isn't about becoming a perfect player overnight. It's about creating consistency, growing your confidence, and finding a community that makes you want to keep coming back.

Thanks, Rosalyn & Omar, for trusting us and being part of the journey. We can't wait to see where your tennis takes you next!

This has been a dream of ours for a long time... and it might finally be starting to take shape. 🎾

We recently toured a potential space in Bayview that could become more than just an indoor tennis court. We're imagining a place where players can practice year-round, beginners can learn on mini courts, and the local tennis community has a space to come together.

Nothing is official yet, but we'd love to build something that truly serves the Bay Area tennis community!

So here's our question for you:

If we made this happen, what would YOU want to see? More courts? Clinics? League nights? Junior programs? Community events?

Drop your ideas in the comments—we're building this with the community in mind 👇🎾

If someone handed you a brand new racquet today... would you actually know which one to choose? 🎾

Most players don't.

That's exactly why we created our Racquet Subscription Program.

Instead of buying a racquet & hoping it's the right fit, you can demo different frames, experiment with different string setups, and spend real time on court before making a decision.

The goal isn't to find the most expensive racquet... it's to find the one that feels right for your game.

Interested in trying it out? Stop by City Racquet Shop & we'll help you find your perfect setup!

That $300 racquet isn't the upgrade you think it is. 👀

Fit beats hype. Every time.

Swipe through to learn the 4 things that actually matter when choosing a racquet, and why most players get it wrong.

How did you choose your current racquet? 🎾👇

We're hiring! 🎾

Tennis season is here & our stringing queue has never been busier! We're at the point where we have to turn away rush stringing jobs simply because there's only so much one person can do.

So if you're an experienced racquet stringer and want to be part of the team, we'd love to hear from you.

Don't have stringing experience yet? Stay tuned—we'll be offering hands-on stringing classes in the future for anyone interested in learning.

If your forearm is always tired after tennis, it's probably not your swing. It's your grip size. 👀

A lot of players are walking around with the wrong grip size and don't even know it.

Swipe through to learn the signs and do a quick self-check.

Stop by City Racquet Shop and we'll make sure your racquet actually fits your hand. 🎾

Tension is the most underrated thing in your game, and most people get it backwards. Here's the cheat sheet. Save this for your next restring, then come see us and we'll dial it in together. 🎾

Every tennis shop has a few customers that become part of the furniture 😂🎾

The player who's convinced nothing made after 1989 is any good.

The beginner who somehow leaves with the nicest racquet in the shop "just to be safe."

The regular who pops in "for five minutes"... then spends the next hour talking tennis.

We see these almost every week, and honestly, they're part of what makes running a tennis shop so much fun!

Alright... which one are you? Or which stereotype did we miss? Be honest 👇
