Premier Racquet Shop serving the Bay Area I am Bryan Chung, and I am proud to be the new owner of City Racquet Shop!

While I may be a new face at the shop, I am not at all new to our favorite sport. I've been playing for nearly a decade and a half, including having the good fortune to participate in some international tournaments. I'm also a tennis instructor who has been volunteering with the Gay & Le***an Tennis Federation. I've also been restringing rackets for over 12 years, so you can rest assured that Marla and Sheila chose well when they turned the shop over to me!

The point's already over. That's never stopped anyone from having a full moment about it πŸ˜‚

Which one is you? πŸ‘‡

The racquet doesn't make the player. But everyone still wants to know what the pros are using.

Top 10 ATP players and their frames:

1️⃣ Jannik Sinner β€” Head Speed Pro
2️⃣ Alexander Zverev β€” Head Gravity Pro
3️⃣ Carlos Alcaraz β€” Babolat Pure Aero 98
4️⃣ Felix Auger-Aliassime β€” Babolat Pure Aero 98
5️⃣ Alex de Minaur β€” Wilson Ultra 99 Pro v5
6️⃣ Ben Shelton β€” Yonex EZONE 98
7️⃣ Novak Djokovic β€” Head Speed Pro
8️⃣ Daniil Medvedev β€” Tecnifibre TFight 305S
9️⃣ Flavio Cobolli β€” Head Radical Pro
πŸ”Ÿ Taylor Fritz β€” Head Radical MP

A couple of these come with an asterisk. What a pro plays with and what's on the shelf aren't always the same frame, and the paint job hides more than people think. 🎾

Surprised by any of these? Tell us your favorite on the list πŸ‘‡

Our youngest Play Tennis Challenger just finished his twelve weeks 🎾

Oliver came in, played every week, and walked out with a new racquet and a whole lot more court time under his belt.

Ask him how it went and you get the most honest review we've had yet:

"It was really fun. I like to play tennis a lot."

Would he recommend it to someone else thinking about the challenge? Yeah. No hesitation 🎾

Nice work, Oliver. Enjoy that racquet.

Got a young player at home who's ready for this? Come talk to us, or DM us 'CHALLENGE' and we'll walk you through it.

Brand new racquet. Suddenly every ball is a drop shot and you're taking half swings.

It's a racquet. Go hit something. πŸ˜‚

Some people join the challenge to stay active. Dao left it loving tennis.

She found us through a friend on social media, having never really played much of any sport. Twelve weeks later she still calls herself a beginner, but she says the love for tennis grew in her along the way.

Her favorite part wasn't the racquet. It was getting to know some really cool people.

"It's 12 weeks, once a week. There's really not much holding you back but yourself." 🎾

Thanks for being part of this, Dao. Enjoy the new gear 🎾

If you've been thinking about it, this is your sign. DM us 'CHALLENGE' and we'll walk you through it.

Most players never look at their grommets until something breaks.

Those little plastic pieces around the frame take the hit every time you scrape the racquet on the court going for a low ball. They wear down slowly, and you probably won't notice.

Here's why it matters: the grommets and bumper are what keep the court off the graphite. Once they're ground through, you're scraping the frame itself. 🎾

The good news is they're replaceable. We take the strings out, swap in new grommets, restring, and the racquet's protected again. A frame you take care of can last you 10+ years.

If it looks like the grinding is getting close to the frame, that's your sign to come in.

The Play Tennis Challenge is one tennis video a week for twelve weeks. Get through all twelve and we're handing you a brand new racquet, up to $300. It's not a giveaway. You earned it.

But the racquet is really just what gets you in the door.

You're in the Tennis Den with a group of players chasing the same finish line, weekly Q&As with Bryan, and honest feedback on your form and your gear. Twelve weeks later you've got hitting partners you didn't have before. 🎾

Every level is welcome here. You don't have to be good, you just have to show up.

Come join us. DM us CHALLENGE and we'll walk you through it πŸ‘‡

πŸ“Ή Shoutout to challenger, for the original video!
