More than 70 years after the final season of the All-American Girls Professional Baseball League inspired A League of Their Own, a new chapter is about to begin.

In just one week, the Women's Pro Baseball League takes the field for its inaugural Opening Day, bringing professional women's baseball back to the United States.

The pioneers proved it was possible. This generation gets to carry it forward.

Emma Peschel is bringing a championship pedigree to the Big Apple.

Selected 7th overall by the New York Sirens in the 2026 PWHL Draft, the Ohio State defenseman arrives after helping lead the Buckeyes to the 2024 NCAA National Championship and four consecutive NCAA Tournament appearances.

Over her collegiate career, she appeared in more than 170 games, served as an alternate captain, and developed into one of Ohio State's most trusted defenders. Her skating, ability to break the puck out of the defensive zone, and consistency in all situations made her a key piece of one of the nation's top programs.

Now, she'll look to carry that success into her rookie season with the Sirens.
