USF Sport Management student Grant Holmes โ€˜27 is gaining valuable hands-on experience as a Logistics Team Member with the San Francisco 49ers. This year, that experience allows him to work firsthand at FIFA World Cup 2026 matches at Leviโ€™s Stadium.

From supporting day-to-day logistics with the 49ers to experiencing the scale and excitement of a global sporting event, Grant is seeing the many sides of working in sports operations.

We sit down with Grant to hear about his experience, what he is learning, and what it is like to work World Cup matches firsthand.

USF Sport Management alumna Ciara Sparling '25 experienced it firsthand as a Social Media Content Publisher for the WNBA at the 2026 WNBA All-Star Game.

From leading social content across platforms and providing real-time game and event coverage to interviewing players and teams, Ciara was right in the middle of the action. She covered key marquee moments, including the Orange Carpet, the Obama Center, the Shooting Competition, and the All-Star Game, while preparing graphics and coordinating the content calendar.

Her experience offers a powerful look at the opportunities in sports media and what it means to turn a passion for sports into a career.

As an Associate Director of Compliance Services at Stanford University, TJ works behind the scenes of collegiate athletics. He also coaches Track & Field at Hillsdale High School, working directly with student-athletes.

Balancing graduate school with roles in collegiate athletics and coaching, TJโ€™s day shows just how many different opportunities a career in sport can bring.
