Train smarter. Race faster. That's not just a slogan for us, it's how we've coached for over 20 years.

450+ professional wins and podiums. 2,000+ World Championship qualifiers. 9 World Champions. And beyond those results, thousands of other amateur athletes have had breakthroughs of their own, at every level of the sport. This isn't just for the front of the pack.

Race season is already here. This is about as late as it gets to make a change to your training that actually pays off on race day.

You don't need more hours. You need to get more out of the hours you have.
If your IRONMAN training feels like a second job, it's not going to end well.

Here's the thing. 12 well-structured hours a week will outperform 18 chaotic ones almost every time. Not because volume doesn't matter. Because purposeless volume quietly destroys your fitness, your freshness, and your race day.

I've seen it hundreds of times, over 20 years of coaching. Athletes who train the most don't podium. Athletes who train the smartest do. That's the entire idea behind how we build a Purple Patch training week. Every session earns its place.

Podiums, PRs and fun, it's what we do! 5:15. 5th place in Men's 60-64 age group & a Team USA qualification. Huge congrats to Tri Squad athlete Kevin!

Newer to Purple Patch, this was his first race with organized coaching after 30 years in the sport and it paid off.

He managed a windy and choppy swim well, rode strong but smart for a time of 2:38, and managed the heat on the run. Challenges on every portion of the race, but thanks to his training, none of it broke him.

Best part is, this was just his tune-up. He's now building toward IRONMAN Maryland, his first full-distance race. With the programming and coach support of Tri Squad we can't wait to see what Kevin accomplishes at Maryland.

Interested in the program behind Kevin's success?

Racing IRONMAN in the heat feels like a different sport. Your pace slows, your heart rate climbs, everything gets harder.

Most athletes treat that as bad luck. It's not. Heat tolerance is trainable, the same way fitness is.

But it only works if your body has the capacity to adapt in the first place. That means a training block built to let you absorb the work, not just survive it, so you're fit and fresh heading into the heat protocol instead of already depleted.

We've got a heat training protocol ready for you. Comment HEAT and we'll send it over, plus a link to book a strategy call if you want a coach to help tailor it to your race.

Congrats to Tri Squad athlete Mark who took on a different type of challenge with the Leadville Heavy Half. 15.4 miles, over 3,000 feet of climbing, topping out above 13,000 feet at Mosquito Pass.

75th overall, 10th in age group, and a soul-full kind of stoked.

We love seeing our athletes push themselves and take on challenges like this. The thing is, at Purple Patch, we don't care how fast you are or what distance you race. What unites all of us is a passion for using sport to grow and become better, in whatever form that takes.

Mark built this into his season with the help of one of our coaches through add-on 1:1 consultations. That's a big part of what Tri Squad is. We're not just handing you a plan and wishing you luck. Those 1:1 calls give you a way to get real coaching input on the stuff that matters to you, without paying for full-on monthly 1:1 coaching.

IRONMAN is hard enough. Heat makes it harder.
The good news: heat doesn't have to be the thing that destroys your race.

It starts with the training block. A smart, well-absorbed build gets you to race day fit and fresh instead of fatigued, and fatigue is what really gets exposed when the temperature climbs.

From there, heat adaptation is its own skill. Specific sessions, timing, and exposure that get your body & mind ready to perform in the heat.

And on race day, strategy matters just as much. Pacing, fueling, and cooling decisions look different in the heat than they do on a cool morning, and getting them right is what separates a good day from a blow-up.

We built a heat training protocol to help you.

Comment HEAT and we'll send it your way, plus a link to book a strategy call with one of our coaches to chat through the training and racing components.

Train smarter. Race faster.
That's the whole idea behind Purple Patch. For over 20 years, we've coached endurance athletes using one core principle: it's not just about doing more, it's about doing the right things well.

The results speak for it. 450+ professional wins and podiums. 2,000+ athletes qualified for World Championships. 9 World Champions coached along the way.

Want to see what that approach could do for your training and upcoming race? Comment TRI and my team will reach out with more info and a link to book your complimentary strategy call.

Some of our athletes' favorite race memories aren't their fastest splits. They're the moments they were still running strong at mile 22 when they expected to be struggling.

That's what we build toward. Twenty years of coaching this sport has taught us that a strong IRONMAN run comes from decisions made hours earlier, not from just running more in training.

We've used that approach to help more than 2,000 athletes qualify for World Championships.

There's a specific feeling at mile 20 of an IRONMAN marathon. Your legs are heavy, your pace wants to drift, and you find out what your training actually built.

We've spent 20+ years figuring out how to make that mile feel manageable instead of miserable. It obviously has to do with your run training, but also so much more. Hw the bike leg was paced, how you fueled starting hour one, and the strength work done long before race week.

More than 2,000 of our athletes have used our approach to qualify for World Championships. Not by running more in training. By arriving at the run with legs that still work.
