World Arts West Dance Festival 2026 returns this summer!
Weekend One at Dance Mission Theater explores this year’s Festival theme: Legacy of Liberation!

Weekend One showcases films that illustrate the influence of dance storytelling on culture and innovation. Delina Patrice Brooks will discuss her documentary series, Bare Soles Bare Soul, and Ishika Seth will share insights into three short films from Ishami Dance Company: Ancestor Song, Because You’re a Woman, and Teele Dharo. World Arts West will present digitized archival footage from the Multicultural Archiving Project (MAP). Join us for a Q&A afterwards with the filmmakers!

Come celebrate what the Grrrl Brigade Intensive has been developing this summer! The show honors the contibution women have made to our lives and the world! Featuring original choreography by the Grrrl Brigade and guest artists Natalya Shoaf, Giulia & Giovana Sales, Brooke Terry, and KJ Dahlaw.

Save the date!! Fogo Na Roupa x Paul S. Flores x Acción Latina x Dance Brigade’s Dance Mission are embarking on a new project! Clothes on Fire examines and celebrates the story of Bay Area legend, Carlos Aceituno. The first workshop production will be Saturday, Oct 10 at 3pm!
