Some dancers begin their journey in unexpected places.

Katherine Healy first became known as a young ice-skating prodigy. Her early years on the ice gave her strength, discipline, musicality, and performance confidence — qualities that later helped her turn successfully toward ballet.

Her ballet path quickly became extraordinary. She won a silver medal at the USA International Ballet Competition and later received the gold medal at the prestigious Varna International Ballet Competition, becoming one of the youngest dancers to achieve such recognition.

From the ice rink to the ballet stage, Katherine Healy’s story reminds us that talent can grow in many directions — but discipline, courage, and artistry are what turn it into something unforgettable.

Our first story is about the extraordinary French ballerina Sylvie Guillem.

Before ballet, Sylvie was a young gymnast with Olympic dreams. At age 11, she visited the Paris Opera Ballet School—and discovered a different path. Her strength, flexibility, intelligence, and fearless individuality helped her become one of the most celebrated étoiles of her generation.

Celebrating our 10-Year Gala Recital, we reflect on a decade of growth, artistry, and community. From the very beginning, our students have taken their first steps in dance with courage and curiosity, developing not only their technique but also their confidence, discipline, and love for the art form. Over the years, we have watched them grow from beginners into strong, expressive performers, supporting one another as both dancers and teammates.
This milestone performance honors every class, rehearsal, and moment of progress that has led to today, while also looking ahead to the future. As we move forward, we remain committed to nurturing each student’s individual journey and continuing to inspire the next generation of dancers to dream, grow, and shine on stage.
